I understand it must be hard to fight when your not motivated. Andy seemed a different person when he fought in Limerick against Gibbs. I always get the impression with Andy that he is homesick and out of place in the Kronk gym.
I know most people think that the US is the place to be but I think Andy would be better off coming home, finding a good trainer (Breen, Hawkins, etc), really knuckle down and work towards a Euro title shot.
    What do you guys think?

i mentioned it to him.didnt really get a straight answer but i got the impression he wants to stay in america and become a top level fighter before he comes home.hes in the process of moving to new york so he wont be with manny day in day out anymore.imo this could be a good thing

i was thinking about someone he could fight and elcock came to my mind.hes a better level than recent opposition but very beatable.would be a good fight for a klitschko undercard as elcock would be known in germany having fought abraham

Sorry podge, didn't mean to sound off about Egan, as he's a dedicated man trying to put boxing on the map here. I was in bit of a mood, a combination of cutting the hedges[ and I'm not talking about a couple of hours here, it's a good days work] and the fact that I read a post by Paddy on another site, about a conversation he had with Andy Lee. Well apparently RTE are not as keen to broadcast as much boxing right now. When will all this bad news stop between ITV pulling out of boxing, and Setanta well documented troubles, and now this news about RTE.Things are looking somewhat bleak ATM. We can only hope for better times.
A well back to the hedges.

If he sorts out that defense he would defo have too much for Elcock who is getting on a bit.
It would be a good fight for Andy to get his confidence back as Elcock is a decent name.
I still think Lee is the most promising out of himself, Macklin and Duddy, he just needs to get his **** together.

Thats good news i heard he is with carruth so i hope he does well out of it.Sweeney has bounced around from Mannion to Breen back to Mannion back to Breen back to Manion and now Carruth it does show a lack of self motivation but maybe he has found his man with Carruth...

Lee not totally happy with display

Andy Lee knows that he still needs to make improvements despite beating Olegs Fedotovs on Saturday.
The Irish fighter made the most of his appearance on the Klitschko-Chagaev undercard as he floored his Latvian opponent.
It was the 18th win of his professional career, and one that showed the eager southpaw has been working hard in the gym since his last outing.
However, he was not totally satisfied with his performance and wants to make adjustments ahead of his next fight.
"Maybe I'm a bit too harsh on myself but I'm always trying to improve," said Lee.
"I felt I was a bit conserative on Saturday night and maybe I could have moved in for the kill sooner.
"I had to maintain a high level of concentration against him [Fedotovs] as he was hanging in there all the way through and he was very strong.
"I felt I wasn't at my best, but I wasn't at my worst either."
Lee did reveal that he hopes to compete in at least two more big fights by the end of the year with his next bout expected to take place in America.
"I hope to fight in the USA in August and, fingers crossed, I can then get back to Ireland for a fight before Christmas," stated the Limerick native.

I wouldn't mind going to watch him fight in Ireland hopefully in the O2 on the undercard of a Dunne defence again.

steward only has a handful of fighters , i think only 3 , there are about 7/8 in john breens gym

lee should stay in america were he gets the best of sparring

I was there mate. The good thing about Lee after the fight he stopped for some kids that were there for pictures and signed a few autographs fare play to him for that.

Would love to get Dunne , Lee , McCluskey and Duddy on the same bill it would be amazing add Sutherland on top of it for a big Irish fight night I know it wont happen but if it did I would be there.
