Fair enough Ardy lad. You started this epic thread and have done plenty to keep it motoring so I'll knock it on the head. However, I should point out that I wasn't making that up myself. Plenty of people connected to boxing who would be in a position to know have told me roughly the same thing about the woman.

Anyway, my lips are sealed from now on!

Apologies for any offence caused. If i knew the man came on to read the thread of course I'd never have mentioned it regardless of what I had heard from anyone. I wouldn't go out of my way to insult the fella or his missus

Would Wayne be willing to fight for what Patrick Hyland Snr could offer him? Look if the fight can be made, and its a pretty big if at this stage, then lets get it on! Hyland v McCullough on a McCloskey undercard would be great. I just think Wayne isn't going to come back to fight on undercards. I think hes looking to jump back into the big time and headline to a packed Point or something like that. But if hes willing to get it on then I think we'd all love to see it.

I think you'd get on the undercard. Surely they'd have a young local fighter on the bill. Barry could pull a few strings could he not! I'll have to get Santa to bring me some placards and a big box of crayons in case you do!

The ruling of Judge Michael A Chavies, in the Circuit Court of the 11th Judicial Circuit in and for Miami-Dade County, Florida.

    1. Guillermo Rigondeaux Ortiz shall be prohibited from engaging in any boxing match under the management of any person or entity other than Gary Hyde until March 19, 2012.

    2. If Rigondeaux continues to participate in the boxing industry, he will only be able to work under the management of Gary Hyde, pursuant to his management agreement. If he chooses not to work for Hyde, he will be unable to work for another person or entity, as of irreparable harm, no adequate remedy at law, and a clear legal right to the relief requested has been demonstrated.

Done and ordered on December 15, 2009.

Interview with Gary Hyde to appear on Cormac's site tomorrow, following Rigondeaux's fight in New York tonight. A very happy man, he has interesting things in mind - teaser: he has some interesting opponents in mind - fellas that Rigo would love to get in with, he said. He and Rigo picked up where they left off when they reunited recently, and their relationship is better than ever, he insists.

Rigo will be based fully in the USA, where he is with Freddie Roach, and the three Cubans and subsequently his Irish signings (JJ and Pady McDonagh) will eventually follow. Exciting times ahead in the US and Ireland for Irish fighters and fans.

Well thats great news for Hyde. He can either keep Rigondeaux and make some money with him and build his profile or he can sell the contract of a hot property for €$£. Looks like he has big plans in mind! Should be very interesting

He defo won't be selling him, BamBam. This is the lad he wanted from Day One - I've never seen him so excited as he was last night before he headed out to NY to see his new charge in action.

He has big, big plans to maximise Rigo's profile and potential to be a great. Rigo will be a full-time US fighter, and the other Cuban and Irish lads will surely be handed golden opportunities on the strength of Rigo's profile.

I don't think I'm exaggerating when I say this is the one of the biggest coups in the history of Irish boxing.

This is what Wayne told Irish Boxing, Nothing mentioned about Headlining the point or anything

At this stage Wayne should be happy to accept any fight offered to him as not many people will give him the chance

Suppose it makes a big difference just walking around town than punching 7 shades out of each other sparring

Get it made then! It would be a high profile fight for either of the lads! I'm presuming Patrick would be the more likely of the two to face McCullough. You could get Paul for the EU title and Patrick v McCullough or the Irish title on a mighty double header!

Paulie will have to travel for the EU Title, so i doubt it can be a double header...

But i doubt Wayne contacted every promoter he knows or he ust be looking for major money

Thanks, are you from Satanta, or in the know about there plans:hi:

Good news for Gary Hyde podge and fair play to him. But it does not really help me to enjoy Irish boxing. The Cubans will be absorbed into the Cuban community once they get to the US, and the Irish lads that follow will fight on obscure undercards that will take us days to find the results of. Podge, we need to keep the talent in Ireland and build on it with promotions here, not take fighters to America on a long term basis where basically they will be forgot by the casual fan here.

In an ideal world, Marty, I'd agree wholeheartedly about developing Irish lads here. But people don't go to boxing in Ireland. Simple as that. Dolphil, Paddy Hyland, Paschal Collins, Gary Hyde and Tommy Egan all found out the hard way. Unless it's Bernard Dunne (and arguably Andy Lee), or in the North where they'd follow their fighters into hell, its all but impossible.

I'm excited about this because Rigondeaux is a superstar waiting to happen - no way the Irish lads will be kept in obscurity, in my opinion, and they'll be part of Hyde's plans as much as anyone. When they make their names as stars in their own right over there, then they'll come back and fill the halls out...I can dream anyways...

Im all in favor of Hyde bringing our Irish fighters to the US, and finding top flight trainers and sparring partners, as long as they mostly fight here, or at least jointly fight here and America. As I said good luck to Hyde, but he is a business man with his own agenda, and that might not necessarily go hand in hand in whats good for Irish boxing.:deal
