You mean where Pavlik struggled to sell tickets vs Lockett?

I wouldn't say it's as lopsided as you might think.

Williams drew 3,000 in Atlantic City.
Pav drew a little more than that in his own hometown.

He ain;t that big of a draw nowadays.

I think 45-55 is fair in the purse split. Pavlik is the champion, neither is a big draw without the other and neither one is on a big enough momentum wave to take precedent over the other.

And when have you heard of a purse split being 47-53?

You would be better off and more fair if you said 55/45 split in favor of Pavlik.

    Lockett is relevant because ?????????????????????????????

6-7 thousand people would come from Youngstown alone to see Pavlik/Williams, and they would not be there to support Williams.

Futhermore - and I'll try to type slow here, so maybe somebody might catch on -- Goosen demanded a 50-50 co-promotion. Arum said no to that 6 months ago, and there was no reason for Goosen to think Arum would change his mind. Kelly has no say in the matter. He could agree to a 50-50 split on the purse and ancillary monies, but he cannot order Arum to agree to a 50-50 co-promotion. Goosen is just protecting his fighter after the scare with Martinez.

Williams has the opportunity to become the middleweight king and potentially a boxing superstar, he should take a 60/40 split.

Because that was one of the last times Pavlik was in a fight at Atlantic City? Ya know where Arum was blaming HBO, Gary "Pocket Rocket" Lockett and the economy for poor ticket sales?

I forgot this supports isn't a big draw and hence must be stricken from the records.

Obviously if they were coming from Ohio they wouldn't be supporting Williams  I mean I'm not a total ****** here cut me some slack.

I also think 6-7 thousand is a massive exaggeration.

This is all well and nice.

Too bad we're discussing purse splits here.

He should do what a confident warrior would do: shut the **** up and fight. He has a chance to fight the world champion of boxing second most prestigious division. He has the opportunity to test himself against the man, who beat the man, who beat the man. But he would rather sit back and whine about how no one wants to fight him. Well -- that **** doesn't fly anymore.
