I think he is And it's been a LONG TIME coming Don Turner, former Holyfield trainer also believes Ward is in trouble. This content is protected Can't wait for this fight!!
It would put a smile on my face seeing that arrogant snob blowing bubbles on the canvas but I see Kovalev winning a decision punctuated by a knockdown or 2.
Very contradictory in his interview. He stated Ward is an ordinary fighter but than goes on to say he's one of the best fighter's in the sport currently.
Same as Golovkin who said Canelo will be his biggest in his career thus far, yet down plays his abilities in another interview.
He gassed out last fight and wasnt taking any body shots or anything. If he goes for the kill right away, he'll end up doing worse than last time. I expect a similar fight with Kov getting the rightful nod this time. The danger is if Kov floors Ward and gasses out trying to finish him.
I can see that scenario too. But I really do think Sergey clips Ward with a huge shot and then finishes him this time. Even with Wards VADA BS and everything. It won't help him.
nice to see don turner laying it out especially after the ward fans say ward don't do anything different than holyfield did. holyfield > ward prime holyfield did not constantly clinch, headbutt, rabbit punch, low blow.. and that's fighting much bigger men.
HE just dominated Ward the first time around. Not just physically, but skillfully too. It wasn't a close fight. The thing is, Ward learned a bad lesson from the first fight - no matter what the judges will bail him out. He's a well spoken, olympic medalist thats an african american. They are not awarding a foreigner, especially a russian. I expect him to run and hold the whole night. wins maybe 4 rds. Save your $70
That's how I see it as well. Fight should play out pretty much like the first fight. Wont be easy to knock Ward out because he pretty much will fight in survival mode just like he did the first fight. Ward's regular tactics of getting in close, clinching and roughing up didn't work against the bigger Kovalev and at distance, Kovalev's longer arms were doing much more damage.
Did you even watch the fight? That's a question coming from a guy who had Kovalev ahead by a respectable amount.
