Is anyone a little irritated by the way the Khan fight is being marketed?

I know they are there to sell box office figures but watching the ad does my head in.

They are trying to turn the fact he was knocked out in 54 secs then became world champion as a good thing, when in reality he did very little to deservedly get his title shot.

Secondly it descibes Sality as the number 1 contender. That soudns very ambiguous but thats not stricly true is it? Firstly isnt in Madiana? Second #1 contender very much implies Salita is the leading ranked LWW.

 

Are they trying to make the fight and fighters sound better than they are so that more people will buy the ppv?

 

King Khan the First Defence. Just saw that advert before. ****ing come on Salita stick one on his chin son.

 

The Next day after Amir Khan was knocked out in 54 seconds.."devastating loss", i turned on the TV...

And was watcing BBC NEWS, and Amir Khan was on the NEWS, giving a interview from his boxing gym...!

He was trainning the next day, after is career was blasted apart.

Men sometimes walk away, but real men..never walk away.

Amir Khan has got my respect.

 

King Khan is just plain daft and does the boy no favours.

 

I hope the day after the Sun reads 'it was Salita killed the beast'.

as for the ****ing box office advert.. it's doing my titts in! They did a brilliant job with the Haye vs Valuev fight but this is an awful effort by sky

They aren't doing him any favours with the titling.

Problem is.... there are no obvious nicknames for him.

 

Yeah I saw that too. I gained a lot of respect for him having seen that. Although he wasn't training he was helping out the kids who train there. Either way it told me a lot about him they way he carried himself.

 

What should the advert be like then?

"He has no real claim to be a world champ and got knocked out last year by a useless fighter, his opponent is a bum and is not really a top comtender. Kahn v Salita live on PPV"
End ad.

Not gonna happen is it atsch these ads are to draw in the casual fan not for die hards like us

I dont mind this ad for 2 reasons (seen much worse from a FW/Sky effort anyway) 1. At least thay address the fact he was chinned in the first place 2. they have not given any credence to the religious angle of this fight.
