By better fighters. Benavidez's long reach lets him get away with a lot.

You have no idea what you’re talking about if you say Chavez did not have good defense. He was a master technician with great defense. He just wasn’t a defense first fighter.

I watched his face get busted up in many a fight. He took punches to come in. Benavidez has a very effective high guard.

If not for the weight and drug issues of the past, Benavidez would already be regarded as the best Mexican fighter of his era.

Man, I like Benavidez, but ask again in 10 years. Further, I suspect he would not find that an unreasonable position.

Chavez was much better technically and had better feet. Benavidez has faster hands. Both are great combination punchers but Benavidez is less proven against top opposition.

Try telling that to all of the Floyd fans who claim Canelo is the best Mexican of all time just to boost their fighters resume.

This just goes to show you DKSAB, or JCC, for that matter. There should be a forum for people like you who don't know **** about boxing and can talk nonsense all day with others of the same ilk.

JCC's head movement and general defense was miles better than David's, and I like Benividez.

And I don't even think David's defense is that porous for a come forward fighter. His guard is fine and he does manage to find ways to nullify the worst of his opponent's incoming. But Chavez was still much, much better in that regard.

 I'm one of Benavidez's biggest fans on here

    But no, not even close

    JCCsr is a legend

For most the GOAT Mexican boxer

    An ATG

    A three weight champion

A six or seven time world champion

    Made 27 title defences

    Most title fights (37)

    Beats tons more world champs

#2 most title defences via KO 21

    Former P4P #1

And obviously his record and his resume is infinitely better and deeper: 107-6-2 (KO 79%)

Benavidez is a one weight champ, a weight he's huge for, and he has beaten 4 world champs: Boo Boo, Plant, Lemieux, Dirrell
