or am i just older and wiser and there is more boxing in the media? with what has happened in the last month alone there must be more than enough for a stewards enquiry...
LOL, it is no where near as corrupt it has been in the past. As we write, boxing is probably less corrupt than it has ever been.
I don't think it's corrupt...it's just stacked in the house fighters favour. Boxing needs a World wide governing body that has absolute power over the way boxing is run all over the world. Unfortunately Promoters have too much influence on the judges which makes them tend to give the promoters fighters every round that isn't completely one sided.
Khan comes off two sht wins in a weight below and gets a world title shot at the Weight above says it all tbfh
you're a poster to respect on here....and i have to stop and think before i quote you......but i think just the opposite to that......there's things that happen in boxing these days that even the mob wouldnt have tried to get away with. why was alverez given a world title to build him up to use him to generate the last mayweather show....and i am sure you'll agree that putting him in with a welterweight from england, who wasnt even the best welterweight domestically there, for a world title at light-middle was gifting it to him the scorecards we see in boxing. the sanctioning bodies and belts...wba..numerous belts in each weight. haye v chisora fight and whole luxemburg fiasco which showed british promoters can go over the heads of the british boxing board if they want hometown desicions...its got so bad know its an open secret in boxing, even tv annoucers openly say a boxer wont get the decision away from home....even things like chisora v malik scott which was stopped very favourably in home mans favour. now we have semi-pro boxing to get our heads around. used to be a rule in the u.k. that a boxer could only box once a week, and if he got stopped it would be once a month....fast eddie pulled a few strings and has boxers boxing three times on one night. high profile boxers sitting on titles for a year and a half and not defending and still keeping the title.....mayweather jr..vitali.. no official british rankings circus shows like the cricketer fella been put on top of the bill on sky sports in a staged professional fight with seasoned pro's boxing support, so that a pundit of the said channel can kick start his own career as a promoter. its very very corrupt.
I think you are misunderstanding what corruption is There is very little corruption , especially so in the UK
explain corruption to me like i am a six year old then please. if i dont reply, its only cause its 2.30am here and i'm to bed...but i will reply tomorrow.
What your describing is bias, that will always exist. and i'm not sure why you think prizefighter breaks the rules, they are 3 minute rounds per fight. You don't need to pay money under the table to get around that. The Flintoff thing, the guy wanted to box, he has a name so obviously it would draw viewers. That is professional boxing. People want to see it so it will happen. it's the same mechanism that made Haye Fury happen. It's not corruption. Go back in time 60 years and the sport was a disgrace with criminals dictating results. I'd rather have a biased ref than that
