Well, for the guys he beat - No. He is only a great fighter. I put him a level below Bernard Hopkins, on the level of James Toney and Roy Jones Jr (the most overrated fighter in the history of boxing). But for me he is legend for one reason only: to be in the sport of boxing and remain unbeaten for 18 years, including 11 as a world champion, no matter how many bums you faced, is a legendery achivement.
what is the point in these threads? nearly all the decent posters have left, and its because of threads like these that it happens. THE SAME THREADS HOUR AFTER HOUR APPEAR THAT DOES NOTHING OTHER THAN TO RIDICULE FIGHTERS WHO HAVE PROVED FAR MORE IN THEIR CAREERS AND LIVES THAN YOU COULD EVER HOPE TO!!! JESUS H CHRIST, just stop with the crap anti-XFIGHTER propaganda threads. Its a load of rubbish.
A great fighter, but not a legend in my view. The term 'legend' should be saved for those who are amongst the best of all time, people like Roberto Duran and Ray Robinson. It all really depends on your definition of a Legend, in my opinion Calzaghe hasn't reached that level.
No. He will get to the HoF. But that place is a shambles anyway. You can't get any higher than "legend" status. Calzaghe has not done enough in his career to earn that right.
