He pulled out of a fight with him 2 or 3 times already... so he says due to injury, So my question is; Is Calzaghe scared of Johnson because of his style, power and heart, is he just waiting 2 or 3 years untill Johnson is completely shot, or does he think this fight does nothing for him ?

If someone was scared of a fighter in a weight division above, here's what they would do: just not fight them. Not talk about fighting them, not try to arrange a fight with them.

Here's what they wouldn't do: arrange a fight with them, then make up a reason to pull out. Then, having done so, try to rearrange the fight. What the hell would the point of that be?

I hope that's of some assistance to you.

Make this multiple choice - I would pick the second and third answers.

A Johnson win wouldn't do that much, after all people are obsessed with records. Glen's looks God-damn awful on the surface.

Do your research and that changes, clearly.

    That one:good

High risk with **** all reward.

I think it would be a very tough fight for Joe, with Johnson trying to cut off the ring and basically being in Joe's face all night; others however see it as a walkover, stating that Johnson is a stationary target and Calzaghe would use his superior movement to box rings around him for a wide UD.

    None of these answers apply.

Calzaghe is afraid of nobody. The same could be said for most other world class boxers.

Some people need to understand that boxing is a business more than ever in this day and age.

Or... maybe he was actually injured at the time, and now there are better fights out there from either a business or legacy point of view. I don't think a guy who has been world champ for more than a decade, undefeated, P4P top 2 and coming off a series of big wins would be scared to face anyone.

No. Fighting Johnson does nothing for Calzaghe and I just don't think he could get up for this fight, motivation-wise.

Calzaghe did pull out of a Johnson fight, twice.
I don't think he ducked him though.

Right now this fight does not make sense though, Johnson needs to hunt for Dawson.

Scared of Johnson but not Hopkins and Lacy?

As far as I remember Lacy was promoted as a FAR more dangerous PRESSURE fighter than Johnson ever was and for obvious reasons including youth, which favored Lacy and you saw what happened there.

Please man, Johnson doesn't stand a chance in HELL here and all this ducking talk is bull****, Calzaghe had his reasons to ignore that fight and it sure as hell didn't involve being scared. If he wasn't scared of Lacy then I don't see why he would scared of Johnson who is as limited and offered nothing(still doesn't). If you mentioned Dawson then sure I'll take you seriously, even though there's no ducking there at all but Johnson?, come on.

Calzaghe would win a clear decision against Johnson, and it wouldn't do much at all for his legacy. It isn't really a financially viable fight at this point.

Seriously what would be the point in fighting Johnson. The risk is there the reward is not.
