I think his punching power is overrated because he couldnt knock Shane Mosley out, but he knocked out most of all his other opponents.
@iWantToLearnEng, i'm guessing you never seen matthysse or quillin fight? They dropped damn near everybody they faced multiple times.
Mosley isn't some glass jawed fighter Canelo can punch. He knocked down Trout. First knock down of Trouts career

A prime Pac could not knock down or barely daze a drained skeleton of Oscar De La Hoya,does not mean Pac's power is over rated as an analogy. Shane has only been knocked down in 2 fights of his career..
Answer this question . Name every fighter that has knocked out Shane ? Canelo is far from a KO artist , But he packs a heavy punch . Just ask Trout , he was nearly taken out by him .
his one punch power is good but i think its his ability to pressure you like a margarito plus he has the ability to throw some really crisp head body combinations that catch alot of his opponents off guard
if anyone thinks he's a big puncher, then yeah. he wasn't able to get rid of much smaller guys like M. Hatton, Mosley, Ndou and Vasquez. he has a bit of weight on his shots due to him having huge shoulders, but i wouldn't exactly call him a big puncher. no.
