I guess we can expect Jacobs to ignore the belts and go for the weight advantage again then. Seems like a better option given that people are more likely to remember the man that clearly beat Canelo than who held what belt when...

It's been day before for about 30+ years now. We're talking about the fight night weights. Most boxers have no qualms giving their in ring weight, but more 'big name' fighters are refusing to. It's shady IMO.

It's pretty lame but when you're the cash cow you can makes these calls. No one forces you to sign up

Oh, ****! I actually forgot. This is a clause both fighters agreed upon, but is not mandated by any of the ABC's. Meaning Jacobs only has to make the official day before weight.
There are financial penalties if either guy fails the second day agreed upon weigh in.

If it were just the IBF belt on the line, and their rules, Jacobs would risk only loosing the belt.

You mean the unofficial fight night weigh in? And why?

    Doesn't prove anything

Does anyone even believe these weights

A lot of them seem pretty ridiculous to be fair.

GGG officially weighed 170 in the morning and unofficially 170 fight night vs Jacobs. Very strange

Jermall weighed 158 fight night vs JRock.

    Hurd weighed 163 vs Lara

Munguia and Sadam Ali were 170 vs 169.

I don't believe any of those tbh

Canelo is a small Middle, would not weigh more than 175 absolute max, probably less

I dont want to seem cynical but i hope we dont get any dodgy business on the scales from team Canelo. you know with them being a bunch of cheats and all that. Also i would like to add i wouldnt care if Jacobs came in overweight.

Super lame but not surprising considering it’s Canelo. Still like this fight the same though
