Depends on who he is fighting. He is no more boring than Bernard Hopkins who has had several fights that were downright stinkers in the excitement department.
He puts a lot of skill on display which is enjoyable to watch. But they seem to lack drama. He wins by big margins most of the time and tends to coast throughout his fights. He doesn't have the style to make a one-sided fight overly entertaining. He needs to be pushed like the Johnson fight. When forced to use all his talents he's a very fun fighter to watch. But more often then not he gets up big and tends to put it on cruise control.
I watched the fight after seeing all the thread titles trashing him and wondered what the hell these people were talking about. The first fights I ever saw live was some fraternity sponsored event. There were two heavies that I swear must have signed up as a grudge match. They literally took turns hitting each other in the head until one or the other would fall over backwards. I have to admit it was a fascinating bit of drama, but...... I don't expect to see two top level light heavyweights do this. If you are facing someone that can KO you, or at least start the beginning of the end with one punch, I expect to see some top level defense too. If you find two top level guys boring because one can't find an opening to KO the other, well......
I think hes a bit boring. prolly cuz the light heavy division sucks i thought the fight vs glen johnson was an exception
Thread starter said: Dawson may have a very good boxing skill and Mayorga maybe a very unorthodox awkward fighter . . . but still Mayorga is more exciting fighter than Dawson. I don't know if it's just me though.
No punching power, doesnt come to whip ass either! I wish he was just a little more hard headed and ignorant. Alas a smooth light punching speedy guy who fights cautiously and at times loses focus, and man bores me at times I find myself lulling to sleep.
