He'd been on the slide since arguably 2003, but he really did look shot to bits in fighting George. I'd rather he didn't fight on, that was a nasty-looking beatdown.

Chris could still beat alot of guys at HW, but not at the level level we are use to seeing him. The man gets my respect, but he is done as a fighter IMO.

I'd love to see Chris train other guys.

Hes gone mostly because of his age. People say power is the last thing to go, Byrd had everything but power, unfortunately with his style, his abilities are the first thing to suffer from age.

I say Byrd UD Lennox Lewis prime for prime, he coulda been champ but Lewis ducked him the way Bowe ducked Lewis.

byrd only had two decent wins against tua and holyfield and that was after lewis had damaged both of them.Lewis would have thouroughly dominated Byrd with his jab and probably would be able to stop him if he felt like it.Byrd's best result against a big heavyweight is an sd over jameel mccline

Definitely shot. Chris "Rapid Fire" Byrd is all out of ammo. Head movement and speed was his game, making guys miss...then ***** slap em and move. He hasn't been able to do that very well for a few years now, but its caught up to him.

He would be much better served now commentating I think, he's got a good personality and can speak fairly decent for a boxer and might be able to offer some good analysis. Or he could possibly try his hand at training boxers.

He should have just went down to Cruiserweight Light Heavy was just too far. He did eat a ton of flush power punches before he got knocked out.

I assume he's saved his money well...?

He didn't seem the flash-spending type. If he did save well, then even more reason to hang them up now. Tough to give it up but I can't understate how scary it looked for him in that George loss, one of the KDs in particular looked very ugly.

Byrd got his ass kicked twice by Wlad and lost almost every round against Vitali.......

Lewis would have schooled him no matter what point they fought with his long reach, jab and boxing skills.

Lewis was never outboxed, he only lost to big punchers who caught him flush, Byrd couldnt outbox him and couldnt KO him
