Everyone here knows who Herbie Hide is. In 1999, Hide was a lightning fast, powerpunching small heavyweight (i.e., big cruiserweight) who met Vitali Klitschko for the WBO title. Hide was the oddsmakers favorite to win.

Of course, Vitali issued a brutal, fast, beatdown to Hide. The fight didn't last two rounds. Hide's speed and power were of no avail in this fight, as Vitali easily dodged his punches.

Hide could not take Vitali's power punches and was knocked out in two rounds.

Interesting also is that prior to the fight, Hide was especially outspoken and insulting in the way he treated Vitali. Vitali was pissed and vowed to make Hide pay in the ring.

Today, I see many similarities between David Haye and Herbie Hide, both in behavior, fighting style and physical attributes. The comparison is uncanny.

What do you guys think...is Haye the new Herbie Hide?

I dont think so. David Hayes from the streets of London and alot tougher than Hide. He should last at least six if he cant get Vitali out of there early
