this of course isn't meant to be racist.they both knocked out everybody they fought before being exposed by a contender or close to it,then they regrouped ironed out weaknesses to become serious champions with devestating power.
how is that?the same exact thing happend to nigel benn vs micheal watson as happend to dave lemiuex. benn had a shaky chin and questionable stamina at first but later proved his self a worthy 2 division champ.lemiuex has alot more proving to do but won the title vs the world class ndam.the question is how much will golovkin take out of him and vice versa?
Why? Both are listed at 5'10 both had an aggressive style with two fisted power with questionable chin and stamina. It's a very fair comparison. Yes Benn fought better opponents but it isn't laughable at all. One guy is 34-2 and the other finished at 42-5 I think.
Laughable in so many ways. Micheal Watson compared with Marco Antonio Rubio? Nigel Benn ever in his life losing a decision to a guy like Joachim Alcine? Hassan N'Dam wouldn't see the third round against the 160 pound Nigel Benn. Lemieux swings hard with his left hook and seems a decent guy, but I wouldn't put money on him beating a peak Matt Macklin or Felix Sturm, and if he sees round seven against Golovkin I will be absolutely stunned. The list of guys Benn beat who would've hammered Lemieux is long, but off the top off my head De Witt, Barkley, and Sims will do.
Brilliant Compasrison! :good They almost exactly like each other... if anything Lemiuex is better technically ...he's improved alot! (old fuddy duddys love to say the boxer in the past was better)
Not going to discuss the comparison, but I definitely think Lemieux has improved and recuperated well from his defeats.
not too bad a comparison. but we have people comparing against a different generation of fighter. nobody knows how these fights would play out in this day and age
