Is Floyd the greatest ever?

Mayweather took plenty of shots early on,was bleeding as bad as I ever saw him bleed and broke his hand.Augustus gave him all he could handle altough the late rounds were clearly Mayweather.

And that's a GOAT win?Augustus is a journeyman.

 

I am fairly sure noone is considering that his defining win...he did win 5...yes 5 titles and beat #1 guys at 4-5 weight classes...that is GOAT stuff...

I can't argue that but head to head who is to say he can't beat most ATG's??? his style is very hard to beat...he has it all

 

I would say he is the best fighter of the past 10-15 years, without question.

Better than Jones, DLH, Pac, BHop, Lennox or the others.

In terms of his resume, the years of fractured titles are bound to count against him in comparison with fighters of previous eras - it is so easy to win a title and hide behind it, simply fulfilling the mandatory obligations.............

 

on the flipside what does floyd have that enables him to beat srr,srl,hearns etc... its wide open for debate but i dont see floyd beating them.

 

Skills wise definately up there, overall, no.

If you're talking the past 15 years, there's no way Mayweather is better than Jones.

 

If Floyd is this and he's that, then why are you guys wasting time debating it? ... people are talking about Floyd more on these boards now than when he was active.

 

I can say this for sure ... that man is truly missed and the sport won't rest until his return.

People voting for him are probably pretty new to boxing and need to study up.
