Is Froch on the decline or was it George Groves?

I think Froch has been past his best for a while, even when he scored his biggest wins.
Frochs chin is what impressed me most.
As for the rest it was Groves. Look at how Froch was outboxed by J Taylor before the finish, how many think he lost to Dirrell, how he lost to Kessler coming off a loss when unwell, how some felt old faded boiled down G Johnson beat him, how he lost to Ward who I think is very overated whilst fighting in a weak era, because Froch made that fight competitive it looks better for both.
I think many forget how old Froch was going into the S6 and how many tough fights he had had already. I dont think he was prime then

An ordinary fighter wouldn't have gotten up from that knockdown.

On topic, it was mainly Groves in my opinion. Clearly in the first round you can see Froch approaching him with confidence and somehow overlooking what Groves had to offer. As soon as the knockdown occurred Froch was forced to adapt and be more cautious, even then Groves was still catching him. All credit should go to Groves here.

The fact that Froch skill and speed wise isn't especially gifted makes his achievements all the more solid.
He can be out boxed and made to look a bit slow and awkward in there but he has an indomitable spirit and will that is an intangible that has to be taken into consideration whenever people are judging or rating him.
The knockdown against Groves came early in the fight which can happen even to strong jawed fighters like Froch.
If you remember I think it was the 6th round Groves simultaneously landed 4 or 5 huge bombs of the type that put Froch down in the 1st all on the button and he walked through them all.
I think he's possibly a tad in decline but Groves had a lot to do with Froch's display simply because of his speed, movement and power.
