    http://news.boxrec.com/news/2010/twitter-mystery-surrounds-froch-injuryTwitter mystery surrounds Froch injury

Submitted by Ian McNeilly on 13 September, 2010 - 20:52 The social networking phenomenon Twitter has dropped a load of sportsmen in the mire recently.
Carl Froch might very well be the next.
The Press Association reported earlier today that 'Froch's promoters Hennessy Sports have confirmed the fighter was told to rest completely for three weeks by his physiotherapist on Monday, after initially struggling with the problem on Friday.'
The PA is a reputable agency and it's unlikely - although possible - that they've made a mistake here.
Yet a Twitter account (http://twitter.com/carl_froch) purported to be the boxer's own published some very positive noises being made on Saturday:
"Just had outrageous fitness test report back from science lab. 12:22 pm Sep 11th via web"
"Everyone looking forward to me versus Abraham then ? raring to go already. 12:21 PM Sep 11th via web"
This type of inconsistency is meat and drink to those fans who have already started forumulating conspiracy theories about Froch's withdrawal and it needs explaining sooner rather than later.
The Twitter account was updated just before midnight with "Had to postpone my fight with Abraham due to a back injury - i'm gutted! Sorry to all my fans but you know I will be back to smash him!!"

Froch fought with pretty bad injuries compared to the pussies we have in this sport who pull out for minor issues. I be very shocked if he has pulled out for a weak reason or faking injury although who knows....maybe Carl thinks he needs to go into this 100% and can't have any niggles like he normally does. As long as he fights AA i'm cool with it.

Maybe he has been advised as the Ward/Direll fight is still up in the air so if that fight doesnt happen this fight means jack **** especially with no belt involved. In front of 2k in Monaco is not good business if the other fight falls through.

It is a bit odd but I honestly don't think Froch is the type to think about business, it's just a case of get in the ring and let's go for him. It probably wasn't good business to go and fight Jermain Taylor in the States because he bottled out of coming here, knowing that he needed a Ko from the opening bell and the US officials would do their damnedest to get Taylor the win. He could have made good money making 2 or 3 safe defences at home but the man's a warrior.

If Dirrell and Ward dropped out, Froch-Abraham could easily be the final. He wouldn't drop out.

He's injured. That's all there is to it.

    Totally different situation. :patsch

This moment in time the Super six is up in the air Ward-Dirrell nothing has been decided, the only reason Froch is fighting Abraham is to get to fight in the final that could well not happen at this rate, there is no belts on the line and it is in Monaco in front of 2 thousand people he is in a hard fight with possibility that the only reason he is fighting Abraham is to get to a final that might not happen.

So maybe they are holding back waiting for the other fight work it self out.

That would be pathetic yes " Carl Froch the winner of the super six even though 4 of the six dropped out " :rofl

If the other two drop out how the hell could they make this the final with any credibility, if they do pull out this event is over. :good
