Well Teofimo with a hole in his throat ran him close so I dont think unbeatable is anywhere close to accurate. Having said that if he knocks off Haney then that is two of the four princesses so thats pretty darn good.
Unbeatable is a stretch since his biggest win is Teofimo Lopez so far, however he is unquestionably elite in one of the most stacked divisions.
He has good speed but is a little stiff. I think elites will cause problems for him, but I also suspect Haney will have a tough time winning a UD in Aus.
Lemos beat georges leftovers, 1.5 years after george took his soul, that wasnt the same selby, what was selbys motivation to continue fighting at almost 35years old? There was none, against george he fought out of his skin as he knew a world title shot was up for grabs, selby should have retired after george. I wonder what his excuses will be after that loss.
You think if the Lopez from the Lomachenko fight was in there against GK the fight would have gone the same way? Personally, I think Lopez fought very stupid. Out of control and predictable. GK is too good and fast for an opponent to telegraph what's coming next. It was night and day for Lopez. Totally different fighter from the Loma fight. But, you are right, on that night, GK matched up almost perfect with what Lopez was doing.
Is this serious? I think Lomachenko couldn’t ever lose to him, and I pick Garcia to beat him. Against Haney it is 50/50, Kambosos will beat him in Australia though. I think he’d beat Davis fairly easily (I don’t think much of Davis).
What was different about Lopez? He was more aggressive against Kambosos, but he looked outclassed against Loma in the second half of that fight when the action started. The only difference I can notice from the Loma fight is that Lopez was very cautious and economical in the first half of that fight behind his jab. That control was out of character, you look at his other fights and he’s usually messy and unfocused.
That’s sparring with George obviously going easy and not worrying about eating the jab. Is it a US culture thing, where sparring is taken so seriously? For most boxing nations it’s about getting work and practicing certain things. It seems like the Mayweather style gym stuff is a fight at every training session. Maybe that’s why Haney looks so great in sparring and so ordinary on fight night.
Ok. I referenced the Loma fight. All the other stuff you wrote is irrelevant to the conversation. And no, Loma did not outclass Lopez the 2nd half of the fight. Loma lost several of the rounds 7-12.
No he doesn’t, and you can see the extra weight he has on as well. He landed his punches when he went for it at the end of the round there.
