It really had no chance of happening once Ward moved up. Same thing with Mikey Garcia Lomachenko. When Mikey was at 135 it could have been made but then he moved up to 140 and 147 and the weight disparity became too great for the fight to happen. GGG Ward could have been made at 168 before Ward moved up to LHW.
I love how people insist Golovkin drop to 155 and 154 for Canelo and Floyd, weights that he has NEVER fought at, but it's too much to ask of Ward to drop back to 168, which he fought at nearly his entire career. FOH.
Who actually insisted that? Don't forget GGG himself claimed he would have no problem dropping down to fight Mayweather at 154, he said fighting Mayweather would be a dream fight so he was willing to sacrifice weight to make that happen. But he wouldn't do the same for Canelo, and at the same time Canelo didn't even insist GGG drop down. Canelo had no problem moving up to 160 to fight GGG but he just needed to fight someone bigger before fighting the supposed best MW in the world, which was why he fought Chavez Jr. That's all he needed, the experience of fighting a full fledged Middleweight / Super Middle as opposed to fighting smaller guys, blown up welters and LMWs, before getting there with GGG who had been fighting at Middleweight his whole career. Once he had the experience of fighting a bigger guy like Chavez then he was ready to take on the boogeyman of the division.
Are you really this idiotic? Floyd at 154, is where Floyd held his last title. WTF would that mean 3G has to fight canelo at 155 now?
Nice story bro, but we all remember he tried to drain G and then when it didnt work he gave up his belt to G and aged him some more.
I'm not saying he had to fight Canelo at 155. I'm saying Canelo didn't insist on that, only GGG fans made the argument that Canelo was insisting on that. Canelo was willing to fight GGG at 160 no problem but FIRST he needed to fight a full fledged Middleweight (Super Middle in the case of Chavez) as opposed to smaller guys he had been fighting.
OK I'm outta here for tonight. Not gonna argue with a flat earther about the 155lb demand that everybody including himself, knows Canelo made.
Emoticons = not evidence. I'm waiting for your proof that Canelo tried to drain G. And regardless don't you find it ironic that G had no problem draining himself for Mayweather?
Canelo never insisted on 155??? And HAD to fight Chavez Jr first!?!? You just make **** up as you go...
Why don't you let this sink in for a second. It will start making sense if you take off your GGG fanboy beer goggles.
