ROFL Look at the ggg haters Alts coming in to vote NO on the ATG poll Names never seen before they cannot bear it whe its proven GGG is more popular than either Floyd or Canelo
You're right. They challenged themselves and faced more ATG's. I shouldn't have been so disrespectful towards Lyle and Mugabi. I'm a GGG fan, but facing one ATG and going 0-1-1 isn't an ATG record. He's an excellent HOF worthy fighter who could have been an ATG had he fought better opponents. Not all his fault. I don't blame him for Sturm, Pavlik, Martinez, or Cotto ducking him. However I do blame him for not taking his chance to face Ward or Froch, and he certainly should have done more after Canelo by facing Charlo or going up to 168 to chase Canelo. Still an excellent fighter
And that helps how when you fight someone fighter 3 inches taller 2 inches longer and supposedly a way better fighter
But Canelo's excuse for refusing to defend his bogus WBC belt against GGG was that GGG was too big Canelo said he wasnt a Middleweight Yet in all his fights he outweighed his opponents , including GGG on fight night lol
Why should a fight against RJJ be the determining factor of being an ATG? RJJ murders Monzon imo. Doesn't change a thing. Regardless, I don't think RJJ handles GGG as easily as you think he does.
Yeah all Mugabi needs is 20 more title defenses knocking out all but two in spectacular fashion and two robbery losses to Hagler and he will be just like GGG.
If GGG can't make the 3rd fight against Canelo then he should find other big name fighters to fight such as Cherlo and Benavides. Now the time is running out for GGG. He is inactive while Canelo is active. I mean Canelo is an ATG but GGG is not.
I'm glad he got rid of his old trainer, i like the fine tune destruct and destroy version of GGG much better than pre Able Sanchez version. They were like the perfect Storm. Able was like Dr Frankenstein in his laboratory.
ATG at 160lb He's rubbing shoulders with the best that's ever been at that weight. Undefeated. Best KO% in history. Best jab at middleweight ever. Amateurs record to die for. Never been stopped, never been rocked . Double win Vs juicy Canelo will just keep adding to that legacy and it will just keep growing.
The short answer is no he is not he may be a HOFer just based on the overall low quality of this era of fighters but ATG far from it. look you can’t build your GREATNESS off supposedly being ducked Andrade is saying the same thing yet nobody cares but because GGG is entertaining we say yeah their all scared. Look GGG has never dared to be great which is why his legacy is what it is.. every single great fighter when they wanted to make fights did what it took they moved up in weight they took less money they did what they needed to to make the fights and GGG didn’t he was content fighting nobodies begging for smaller fighters to move up then wouldn’t even comprise to try to make the fights. I mean look at the fights you named Rubio has beaten who? Never won a title and is best known for losing to a Chavez jr. Macklin never won a title best known for losing to Martinez. Lemuix won a vacant title lost his first defense and never won a big fight before or after. Dervanchenko is 13-3 or 4 was coming off a loss to Jacobs lost to GGG then Lost to Charlo dude is 1-3 in his last 4 fights and is best known for losing close fights and not winning them Jacobs outside of beating Quillin has done what, dude wasn’t a real champ at the time of the fight and the only real title he won was a vacant title shot he got after the IBF stripped the real Champ in Canelo with they bs rules only for him to lose to Canelo, struggle with the aforementioned Dervy and also arguably lost to Rosado his last fight, going into the fight Jacobs had been dropped in like 8 straight fights. Now onto the series with Canelo 1 fight doesn’t make you GREAT and you Golovkin fans have been holding on to that letting REAL LEGACY pass you by, greatness is a sustained excellence not win fight or win if you fight 39 bums and 1 great fighter that doesn’t make you great. Now I’ll debate any round in either fight because I really have no bias or care may the best man win but GGG got a DRAW and was reduced to only being able to jab in fight I if Canelo didn’t gas mid fight he likely cruises to an easy victory. Fight II a slightly better gas tank and GGG got dominated. Now fight II is honestly one of the most entertaining fights I’ve seen in a mega fight in a while and GGG made for a classic bout but he LOST. And instead of going on and making a point that he’s the best and reinforcing his fans belief that he was robbed and dominating the man has done nothing but fight bum after bum begging for a fight. ppl talk crap about Canelo ducking in 2019 I believe a third fight was brought up to Canelo early in the year Canelo stated if he wants a fight win a title and we can unify.. his fans scoffed at the idea of him having to fight a champion and this man had the audacity to wait until a BS rule stripped Canelo of a title to fight for a vacant belt and claim himself as a champion that way instead of facing an ACTUAL CHAMPION.. that is embarrassing and his whole career pretty much. Long post but to sum up no very entertaining fighter probable hofer due to era but far far away from being an ATG or an ATG MW Even his defense record is fake dude was a regular titlist while there was a real champ above him he only has 8/9 REAL TITLE defense vs mainly subpar opposition
Hopkins> GGG Monson> GGG Hagler> GGG Robinson> GGG Leonard> GGG Canelo> GGG Lamotta> GGG Fullmer> GGG Duran> GGG GGG is lucky to make it in the top 20 best MWs
