Ricky has been great for British boxing and I respect the way he broke from Warren to go fight in America rather than just talking about doing it while Warren lined his own packets from filling the MEN Arena. I don't think anyone would begrudge him a lesser opponent first up again, but its just that his camp haven't come up with a decent enough reason for not fighting Witter. He is the WBC champ after all. Thats why Witter's so keen for his next fight to be in america to cut down the accusation that he doesn't have wider appeal. Whatever, i just think it'd be a great fight

I think its always been about risk reward with witter. Before there wasn't that much reward for it and the risk was pretty high. Now that witter has a belt, a name, and some decent wins the reward is getting bigger. So there might actually be more chance of this fight taking place. But I also think that rRicky knows that this fight can sell at any point in his career no matter how many loses he has in his last couple of fights or however bad either of them have recently looked. Much the sameway DLH is waiting on the rematch with tito till the end of his career. It might be that Ricky is waiting on the match with Witter till he's exusted all other big money fight opportunities.

That or he could be never planning on facing him. Who knows?

I notice you've started three threads with a total of ten replies.... care to start another more interesting, more "revolutionary" one for us?

See my above post. It just doesn't make sense to fight a guy like witter for big money now when losing would mean you for go all your big money fights in the future (most of which are for bigger money). Especially, given that losing in all of these other fights won't prevent you from making big money off of this fight.

And yes you are also correct witter needs more time to hype himself up.

If you want to know why this fight never happened all those years ago when Hatton was a WBU champ just watch the Collazo or Mayweather Vs Hatton fights. His handlers were worried that a slick and fast counter puncher would give Hatton a nightmare. Add to that Witter has devastating KO power.

If that fight was made all those years ago, Hatton would have benefited by learning the limitations of his style and improving himself as a boxer. Instead he got embarrassed by Mayweather in front of millions.

all of the excuses served up by Hatton and his sympathisers can and HAVE been shot down in a ball of flames, and exposed for the piles of horse**** they are. Every last one of them.
There's no need to go over this again, we just hope Rikcy gets the stones to put himself in a fight that would expose him for the overrated wrestler that he is....he had ready made excuses for Mayweather and Tszyu, lame ones, but excuses nonetheless. Losing to a domestic foe who he himself has played a big part in keeping down would show him up for what he is....a conman.

but by fighting Witter years ago he would probably have been exposed years ago, thus losing a lot of his financial clout and marketability. Hatton's a conman of the highest order, he had a lot of people duped.

    Of course he's dodging Witter.

He makes the excuse about not giving Witter a payday because he upset him but forgets that he was insulting Mayweather before their fight was signed.

He says HBO aren't interested in Witter yet he fought Urango, Maussa and Collazo. And have you seen who he's planning on fighting next...

Other excuses in the past: Witter is boring, Witter is not world class.

If you hear one excuse you're inclined to believe it but when there are several you get the idea he just doesn't want the fight.
