Is HERRERA a FOTY candidate?

    Garcia is certainly a better name then Gamboa and a great grandfather aged Bhop.

    No way I didn't watch the Garcia fight but he clearly lost 117-111 to Benavidez.

    You don't need to be a rocket scientist to see Herrera wasn't landing ****, and every time Benavidez threw a punch he was rocking him.

    The colonel needs glasses for sure there was a point in round 12 where Benavidez landed 6 clear unanswered head shots and hererra came back with a ***** 8 punch combo where nothing at all landed and he was acting as if it evened the round lol bs

    I will have to watch that one again, I see where you are coming from. While watching it live I was drunk and not that focused, I thought it could have gone either way, draw potentially. I think he definitely beat Garcia though. Herrera is awesome, but hes not the best, some styles give him some real trouble. Herrera is a fighters fighter, that guy has no power, no real speed, not big for his division, and started boxing way late, but his heart and application of technique are top notch.

    Herrera should definitely be a candidate for FOTY despite a 1-2 record. He's been on the wrong end of many bad decisions during his 26-fight career, including a majority decision loss to undefeated lineal champion Danny Garcia.

    I thought he won all three of his bouts in 2014.
