There were some threads done on p4p guys and boxing is just so, so stacked that even a guy like Mayweather has trouble cracking top 25 all time. Look, you could make an argument I guess. But then you're going to be arguing from a viewpoint of Floyd's skills in the ring, which are top notch, rather than from a resume standpoint.

I never got the point of this pound for pound nonsense. Tyson would demolish Mayweather and that's all that matters.

What's the point in watching inferior specimens. It's the equivalent of comparing men's soccer, nfl, baketball players with female ones.

The 90s was really the Lewis, Bowe and Holyfield Show ft George Foreman with cameo appearances by Mike Tyson.

I agree but Tyson probably still made more money in that decade than the fighters listed above.

I'm not saying it is a sign of greatness. I'm saying that's how famous Tyson was and still is. His fame transcended boxing. He was a massive box office draw and that fame helped guys like Holyfield and Lewis to have massive pay days and elevate their own fame.

The only other boxer to have that level of fame was Ali.

I'd say definitely among the mainstream public, in the UK at least he is 'the guy that got his ear bitten off by Mike Tyson'

Not really. Smaller doesn't automatically mean inferior.

They are. If there were no weight categories in boxing the heavyweights would utterly destroy anyone smaller than a cruiserweight. It would be carnage.
