I wouldn`t be suprised Badr Hari does one last fight against Saki for Showtime and will stard to box after that. Saki is also interested in boxing and so will other kickboxers be if Hari is succesfull in boxing. Overeem is in the UFC and many people watch MMA instead of K-1
But not in K-1's market. In Japan K-1 and MMA are pretty much seen as the same thing and its not like K-1 have lost fans to MMA. It's just the fight industry as a whole in Japan is in very tough times and none of the major fight promotions can get out of the slump.
No, K-1 has been putting on smaller events the past year. There will be no K-1 GP this year, but it will start again next year. There are 3 candidates for major investors right now, they are just having difficulties finalizing the deal.
This is sad sad news. K1 GP is awesome but with Hari to boxing and Overeem to UFC, it loses alot. I'd still watch with Schilt, Saki etc
It been shaky for a long time and they said that it wouldnt be a K-1 GP this year due to money problems and they declared bankruptcy not to sure where i heard the bankruptcy thing it might just be an empty rumor but the money problem has been there for a long time
man ****ing american fans not liking k1, k1 is real combat sport in terms of striking. remember this This content is protected This content is protected
is it? Its not massive in Japan anymore. It's all falling apart in Japan. Heartbreaking if Sakuraba isnt being paid.
Well this year there won't any GP, that seems pretty obvious. But there are three candidates to take over K-1. I think K-1 is a great product, but apparently they were managed in a very bad way, that's the only explanation for me. I think they will be back. Someone will buy the name.
