Is it me or has the UFC(mma) really gone down hill?

I disagree if anything ufc has got better over the last 12 months, people complain about not having events packed with stars but half the time those events turn out to be boring and ****, the majority of the last 5 ufc's fights have been evenly matched and exciting.

Both are about the same level. It will always have a following on ESB and Sherdog.

Anderson and GSP have both been out for ages, Overeems just been caught and suspended, Leslies away back to wrastling, BJ has retired, Nick Diaz was suspended for being a stoner.....

    Anderson Silva
    GSP
    Brock Lesnar
    Alawalla Overeem
    BJ Penn
    Nick Diaz

Its no wonder things have been so run down at the UFC

They haven't had personalities emerge. There is no charisma. The talent pool has exploded and the sport itself has evolved hugely, however the charisma and star power of the stars has fizzled out to almost nothing.

    The top fighters:
    JDS
    Jones
    Anderson
    GSP
    Bendo
    Aldo

None of them are stars. GSP is the closest, but his style now is boring to watch. Aldo, Anderson and JDS are all very exciting, but they aren't very appealing to the mainstream casual fans...partially due to being brazilian and the language barrier. Jones is a beast, but not likeable for whatever reason for alot of people.

They need polarizing, charismatic personalities. Like Tito/Rampage/Chuck etc.

What's funny. If Tito and Rampage go over to M1 and fight eachother, it will outsell a UFC where Aldo fights most likely. :deal

I can´t speak for other places, but here MMA is the second sport right now.....this fight Wandy vs Franklin was talked like if it was the good old days of Formula 1 for example......the sport is big as that now.

MMA simply can´t compare with Football (soccer if you´re american), no way, it´s a different world......well, at least here.

Has anyone said for you to officially **** off yet? Why come on the MMA forum to complain about a sport you don't watch?

Riddle me this Batman - if no one is talking about the UFC or MMA then what do you make of the people that wear UFC/Tapout shirts around all the time. I see it every day. Never once seen someone wearing a Floyd Mayweather shirt.

I'm as big of a boxing fan as any of you trolls so bring it if you have some knowledge otherwise go home and drink a glass of STFU.:hi:

The UFC's definitely over saturating the market lately, but I still enjoy watching it. The Korean Zombie/Poirier fight was the best fight of 2012 so far IMO. We'll see what Silva/Sonnen II brings.

That guida fight is a reflection of what's wrong with mma. Too many well-conditioned guys with no skill or ability whatsover. Just humping around or laying on their opponent for half an hour and than 'winning'.

Its not going anywhere but its not taking over. I still watch fights but nowhere near as much into it as I was. I never watch it live and never watch a full card.

Its ppv sales are on the slide and here in the UK nobody gives a damn about the ufc. 2 or 3 years ago people were saying boxing is in trouble but ufc hasn't eaten into the boxing market share over here at all.

Ufc ratings on fox haven't been great either have they?

When I read the likes of wanderlei, and Ortiz are still on ppv my interest gets worse. I didn't even watch the Silva v Franklin fight as I don't need to watch a fighter like Silva who was shot when mirko killed him.

The amount of dumb stuff I read on this site is on the way up... surely a quick exam when signing up would help rid us of some of the idiotic shite that is posted on a daily basis...
