few ppl realise this but early in his career when he was 15-0 or something he was offered a fight with ricky burns but he pulled out of the fight in the middle of training. the burns that beat earl would have boxed circles around murray imho
yeah it was a while ago 2005/2006 burns was then at 135 and murray was supposedly a hot prospect back then, the guy who won the fight got £10,000 and the 1 that lost earned 6000, murray said he was going to break burns back but pussied out of the fight.
Murray needs to take a leaf out of Chisora's book and grow some balls. He should be grabbing any whiff of a title fight he can get. Being offered a **** payday isn't an excuse, you got to build up your profile with good wins. Plus his purse will still be more than what he's getting for his bum fights now. He's still young so he's got a chance to step it up, but I dno't see it happening myself. He's a fight away from doing a Mitchell.
People are too quick to criticise. Don't forget who his promotor is, and the periods of inactivity he has suffered because of that
I wouldnt say Murrays a coward. Hes just a limited fighter, and his team knows this. Theyre not confident in his ability to be matched against the likes of Ortiz and Katsidis, because the moment they do, they can say goodbye to his unbeaten record.
