Joshua beat a washed-up, old, decript roided-up, inactive old man. There was nothing impressive about it.

BUT WHEN USYK WAS SPARRING WITH KLISTCHKO A MONTH EARLIER, WITH BIG GLOVES AND HEADGEAR, WOW! HE JUST TOOK ON THE 1999 KLISTCHKO IN HIS PRIME. AND KISTCHKO DIDN'T WANT THE MEDIA TO SEE IT! WHAT A FIGHTER!

This isnt a trash Joshua thread at all, i just wasnt really on forums when wlad got knocked out by Joshua. Ill be honest, when wlad knocked him down, i was saying 'told ya' to a lot of people. But joshua got up and won, pretty awesome fight altogether.

My question tho is, how did people feel at the time? and now that some time has passed? Did people think a past his prime wlad showed that joshua woulda been destryoed by prime wlad? Or did joshua show that he simply was better than wlad?

To Joshuas credit, wlad stayed powerful and athletic well into his late 30s. But wlad also had looked slow and past it for a few fights. He was getting by on his boxing skill alone some times. just curious what everyone thought. Sure its been discussed before. relevant since povetkin is also way past his prime. Joshua can only fight whats put in front of him tho, he doesnt have a time machine to fight prime alex or wlad.

Better Wlad couldn't even land on Fury.
Better Povetkin got hugged to death by Wlad.

40 year old Povetkin off the PEDs is not an impressive win at all. 40+ year old inactive loser Wlad out of Germany is not an impressive win at all. When you add in that both men rocked him and Wlad should have stopped him, it shows AJ is just a KO waiting to happen.
