After another resounding win last night is Kell Brook the next Brit to pin hopes on at world level now Calzaghe and Hatton are getting to the end, (Haye notwithstanding)?

Brook seems to have the tools.

I'm a big fan, but he needs to make up a step up in class this year. Now he's found his punching power, he should fight a stern test.

In another thread, I suggested Ben tackie, who is one of the most durable fighters around today. Now fighting at WW, he's not at his best, but would at least make Brook think for a few rounds (probably the distance)

    Who has he beaten?

He's just another domestic/European level guy in boxing's most dangerous division imo.

His last two opponents had no chin too. It was'nt about punching power but chinless opponents.

He look's like a great prospect but with Frank Warren promoting him god knows when he'll see a decent opponent.
There's talk of him fighting for a European Title later this year so we'll get a better look then.

Give him two years vs. better and better competition, then we can talk about him being the real deal or not. Very promising talent, but no need to rush, he's still very young.

I don't really think tackie would be a great test for brook if matthew hatton can beat him pretty comfortably, you are right that he could take him the distance but not sure how live tackie would be in bout.

One things for sure though that brook needs to move up in class pretty soon

it's far far to early too tell. he's done everything required of him so far but the thing that worrys me most is his attitude. he seems like the sort of kid who could hit the fame and fortune and go off the rails overnight.

let's give him sometime. another british title shot against against a craig watson, mickey jennings, someone who will give him a tougher examination and then maybe a shot at the euro strap toward the back end of 2009.

for sure buddy tackie is finished now, i realised when i saw the way mathew hatton made him look stupid
he is not the right guy
mathew hatton is the right test, i would love to see him take mathew out

Matthew Hatton has a solid beard, probably the best beard in Britain below 160lbs...... never down/hurt as an amateur or pro.

His stoppage loss as a pro was due to a cut, which was more of a scratch from memory.

Hatton jr would take him the distance.... but due to promotional issues it is a fight that would never happen. Unless Brook left SN.

Another Euro-bum. You guys are getting desperate to find you're next big hype-job considering Hatton and Haye will be KTFO this year.
