Agree with all of that. I just think Kessler has slipped a bit, in all his fights since the Ward fight he just hasnt looked quite as good and only Froch fighting like a total wally allowed him to look that good. Froch was just walking forward with his hands down trying out war him but getting out punched. With the current momentum and confidence of Froch and the fight being in the UK, plus Froch's mentality at needing to avenge this loss makes me lean towards Carl slightly. It could go either way though it'll be close. I think Froch will be super pumped for this one he'll be going in there like a man possessed and throwing shots with bad intentions, if Greene can drop him then so can Froch and Carl is a good finisher!
Yeah Abraham won't fight at A level (Ward, Kessler, Froch) again for a long time. He'll probably fight at B level (Groves, Steiglitz, Sturm being likely IMO) every one in three with C/D level fighters sandwiched in between.
I don't think Kessler is ducking anything he realistically holds all the cards. He's the one who has proven he can sell out stadiums unlike Carl who possibly could Mikkel as proven he will. Mikkel could walk in to a Super fight with Abraham and earn big Money, Carl can't this is the only money fight available to him. For me Carl needs this fight more, Mikkel is In the driving seat here he calls the shots.
Whens that then (Calzaghe selling out a stadium with him as the worthless extra doesn't count) And he can't walk into a fight with Abraham lol, Abraham won't touch him with a bargepole
Decent but nothing special, already lost to Abraham, hardly going to put himself back in the mix with the elite by beating him again. I'd expect him to have a couple of lower tier defences then maybe having to give Groves/Degale a shot towards the end of the year. Kessler would bust him up badly and I think he knows this.
I can see him having a big fight with Sturm at a stadium somewhere in Germany or maybe a fight with Groves/Degale but he won't be taking on the cream of the division was my point. He stepped up in the Super 6 and lets be honest was exposed as a very one dimensional fighter. His come back will be similar to his reign at MW when he stayed in Germany and defended against fairly mediocre opposition and made plenty of Euros in the process. He hasn't exactly been calling out big names and is probably just hoping to hold on to the WBO for as long as possible. I have no particular problem with AA but at the moment you have Ward/Kessler/Froch at the top then below them you have AA/Stieglitz/Pavlik/Bute and prospects like Degale and Groves coming through. All of whom will be hoping for a fight against AA as he represents the easiest opportunity to win a "world" title.
A rematch is justifiable I was just suggesting that AA will be looking for those types of fights on home soil for the foreseeable future, rather than calling out the tough fighters. He's got his WBO back and he'll be happy to fight in front of big crowds making decent coin engaging in match ups where he will be considered the favourite to win. He won't be in a hurry to fight Ward or Froch again and probably Kessler either.
