I think Larry would definitely have had a shot at beating him.

Ali could beatr Lennox but not Foreman or Holmes. George himself has said many times Lennox would have beaten him

Blah blah. He ducked the rematch. He acted worst than Bowe.

You may be right, but I'm looking at the possibility.

I'm looking from the perspective of they COULD have beaten him.

Lennox was truly great. But Mercer, Evander and Vitali caused him problems. Frank Bruno caused him a few problems. Rahman and McCall beat him. So I'd have definitely have given Larry and George a shot.

    Ali can outpoint Lennox.
Holmes can outbox him as well.
Earnie Shavers can put any HW lights out including Lewis.
Liston-Lewis would be a Straight up War.
Foreman is durable and powerful enough to present Lewis problems.

Yes These men are capable of beating Lewis.

But will they rise to the occasion and actually prevail?

    I just dont know.

    Because Lewis was simply phenomenal.
    But not unbeatable....
    No one is.

I would take Larry and Ali over Lennox. But NOT Foreman. Lennox would take him apart.

I can envisage both of them beating the other.

Foreman would DESTROY Lewis, shatter that shaky mandible early. If mediocre HWs like McCall or Rahman could take Lewis out early, George Freakin' Foreman would ANNIHILATE him

Lewis is horrendously under rated on these forums, and by the general boxing media complex. Its probably too early to rate him in relation to the HW's of the 60s, 70s and 80s.

In 20 years time, I think Lewis will be ranked as the number 1 of all time.

At the moment most observers have him in the top 6.
