Gvozdyk and Linares aren't comparable fighters. Gvozdyk was rated as the best Light heavyweight in the world when Beterbiev beat him and Beterbiev may already have been on the slide.

No way he's an atg and should be the undisputed champion because he deserved a win against Haney

He's a great fighter but not an ATG. He's certainly not good enough that he should have gotten a title shot with a 1-1 record. It's hilarious to read Loma fans acting like he has been a victim when in reality very few, if any, fighters in history have been brought along the way Loma was.

There's a clear distinction between Loma & Inoue, the latter who has moved up with no problems.

The better question is, would Haney and Lopez at 35+ years old with tons of matches(As Loma has tons of matches, given they are in the amateurs, that still took it's tool), at the level where Loma was at that age. And i can give you the answer straight away - > Hell No!!!
They won't even be at World level, let alone at Loma level.
And Loma was robbed against Haney.

If anything Loma is underrated. Generational fighter without a shadow of a doubt.

As far as ATG status, Loma is ATG easily with just his amateur record(you can make a GOAT case for his amateur career), and his skill alone.
Against Salido he was 5000% robbed, as Salido get away with a murder in that fight, and he still lost that fight.
    Robbed against Haney as well.

On one hand you’re right. On the other this is why boxers don’t fight the best anymore. How many times did Duran fight and lose to bigger guys? Yet everyone ranks him higher than the rest of the fab 4?

Loma is a great fighter amongst the elite of the elite, but boy he was and still often is comically overrated. before he lost to Lopez the hype around him was insane. Both hardcores and casuals fell in love with this idea of the 1000-1 amateur 100 time olympic gold medalist, hyper skilled Eastern European matrix hi-tech, No Mas machine, with crazy footwork and combinations, treated him like some sort of next gen fighter from the future.
People were genuinely proclaiming him to be the best and most skilled fighter to ever live. Even his own rivals were glazing the hell out of him, had guys like Luke Campbell talking bout how he was sparring with 3 dudes at the same time just to prepare for the almighty matrix. Unsuprisingly he seemed to buy into his own hype. Did nothing against Teo probably figuring that it didn't matter because he would just overwhelm and stop him later because he's the matrix. Then claimed Teo paid off the judges after he rightfully lost the decision. For a little bit after that fight some people genuinely tried to say it was a robbery aswell lmao. After that the aura of invincibility was gone.

He is. He was touted as more or less the GOAT after just a few fights and now that he has struggled a bit with bigger guys, his fans scream of robberies and all kind of nonsense to save face.

Perhaps a bit unlucky losing two close fights (I had him losing both, though) and, yes, he is a small LW, but beating bigger guys is what the p4p ATGs do. Floyd and Pac were dealing with bigger guys all the time. The reason why Loma finds it harder is that he becomes quite average when forced on the back foot.

He is certainly one of the p4p talents of this era and props to him for facing good opponents in almost every fight, but the GOAT discussion was waaayyyyy premature.

The funny thing is that if Lopez and Haney ever meet, it will be a bit double edged for Loma, I think. Losing a disputed decision to Haney will look better after he easily dismantles Lopez, but losing a clear decision to a green Lopez will look worse for the same reason.

Because I think Haney will make Lopez look baaaaaad if they ever meet, but I suspect Lopez and his people deep down know this and will avoid the fight for that reason.

With Haney and Teofimo winning weights at LWW it shows how good he really was to be an undersized champion in a pretty strong lightweight division.

Duran had 70 fights before he fought Leonard; his status was built on sustained dominance at an elite level. He was already an ATG before he ever fought Ray. That win rightfully took him up another tier.

Loma didn't have that sort of resume to fall back on. His entire claim to greatness was staked on winning all of these legacy matches in a condensed career and he's failed... and the people he's lost to aren't even ATGs themselves.

You can't be 17-3 and an ATG. You never know what sort of adversity an underdog can give you (look what happened to Robeisy last night), and Loma was allowed to bypass all of those potential tests and start fighting for titles right away.

Now if he was 30-3 with a couple of Espinozas on his resume...

I feel like people misunderstand overrated to mean the same as bad. Loma isn't bad by any means. He's just not the most skilled fighter of all time like many of his fans think. So he's overrated.

You're being purposefully slow. Arum says that about everybody for promotion reasons. Others have said Loma was the most skilled ever simply because theu don't know much about boxing history.

If Loma was American he would be undefeated P4P king he would've got the rub from the judges in the Salido, Lopez and Haney fights.
