Greatly overrated. Fights too amateur style, barely fights, some bad losses and should have lost to Ortiz also. Considering the hype of being an ATG he is a hype job.

How was GGG overrated? He's an ATG MW...arguably Top 5 but definitely Top 10 MW. And MW one of the most decorated divisions of all time.

Fight with Teo was close and Loma fought with injured shoulder. I think he won against salido and most def clearly beat Haney. Loma is underrated .

Most overrated fighters I can think of are mostly americans mike tyson, mayweather ,tank davis, now Haney , wilder, tyson fury and two sons of joe calzaghe Hopkins and Roid Jones . Those are truly overrated , not Loma.

No. He's under privileged. Had he been american hed have been at least 19-1 now. If I had any criticisms it would be that he turned pro too late & is too obstinate about 135. The guy is the antithesis of most 'p4p' list fighters.. most of em come drastically DOWN in weight.. he stays true to his size.. he's just in a sport packed with weight grifters. Haney is a damn WW... his talent is generational, it's his marketability (especially that he's old now) that has seen him shafted by the system. Say what u want.. but the only guy to legit beat him without corrupt judging or low blows is Lopez.. another talented kid that is almost the same fkin size as Canelo..

People overrate him by putting him past hall of famers who have accomplished way more in boxing than him!

Floyd shouldn't be lumped into the same group here. He was a bit lighter than his opponents but he had the reach advantage in almost every fight, and the ones where he didn't he gave away an inch at best. Not comparable to consistently giving away mostly inches.

When you have a boxing style that majorly uses distance management then every inch of reach counts.

Regarding Loma, great skill, but not enough as a total package to easily beat noticeably bigger boxers who are also skilled . Athletic traits are a huge factor in this.

He's a natural 125-130lber who got robbed against a massive Haney top 10 P4P who hydrates to 160+......

Loma was untouchable in his natural class. When he was the bigger man he made champs quit and ponder retirement. At LW hes been outsized in every fight..... by alot

Leaving his amateur record aside as it is irrelevant in the context of professional boxing, Loma is an excellent fighter.

But you cannot be an ATG with a 17-3 record, no matter how many people cry that you were robbed in certain fights. Yeah, he probably just beat Haney but it wasn't the worst decision ever handed down.

I'd call Loma an elite fighter who is just short of being a great one.

It's called pound for pund, not inch for inch. And Loma was hailed as a p4p great, not an inch for inch one.

Yes, if Loma had longer reach he'd probably be a better fighter, but he doesn't.

Pound for pound is an arbitrary name for comparing skillsets within the same size. There is more that goes into boxing than just weight, and physical dimensions is one of the more important traits when the weight is similar. I'm not even talking about Loma here, Floyd's fighting ability is inflated because most of his opponents were smaller in stature with less reach

P4p becomes easier when most of the people you fight are smaller in stature

Overrated is strong word but Loma is too small for these weight classes that he lost in.
Some of his opponents started very young in the pro game and went through many weight classes, Loma turned pro relatively late and is not able to transition through weight classes with that ease and is way smaller than Haney etc.
