His ranking is irrelevant. If you have eyes to see and watched more than just his Andrade fights, you know he's one of the elite talents at 168.

As for saying he hasn't fought anyone yet...well it's not like the best guys at 168 have all been fighting elite level for the last 10 years....

Froch deserves credit for getting big wins in his last 3 fights but he's limited and will soon be exposed for that. Dirrell only has 1 fight against top 10 comp and lost (although he should have the "W"). Ward beat the best rated guy and probably deserves #1 spot. Abraham only has one fight at 168 and against a fighter going downhill and knocked out a few times prior to his fight with him.

Overall, at 168, I would say it's Abraham that's the most over hyped for the moment. He's good but not that good and although he sure has power, if Dirrell, Ward, Bute and Kessler box a smart fight with him, he's not getting the nod against them.

Truth is, everyone at 168lbs is a bit overrated.

Bute's best wins against sluggers and tough guys.

Kessler hasn't defeated anyone worth mentioning in 3 years (it's an eternity in boxing).

Ward's best win is against a guy who hasn't done anything worthy in years (Kessler).

Froch's best wins are against guys who done jack **** at 168lbs (Pascal, Taylor and Dirrell).

Abraham's best win at 168lbs is over a guy who's lost 4 of his last 5 fights (3 by brutal KO).

And the list goes on and on.

Pretty negative view, but essentially correct. Head to head I'd favor Bute over anyone in the division.

I just wanted to point out it's possible to find flaws in anyone's record. Especially the current crop of top super middleweights.

Bute isn't overrated. His style is very comparable to Calzaghe and the only fighters who may be more talented than him are Ward and Dirrel. Froch is a bum. Abraham has great power and defense, but I feel Bute is more technically skilled. Kesseler is a good fighter with a good 1-2 and nice power but Bute offensively is much more diverse IMO.

I used to think that.... but in his rematch with Andrade he showed he was for real...

He was not invited to the super six for a reason... he is too damn good

Bute is overrated. Afterall he is REALLY 1-1 vs Andrade, and Kessler toyed with him.

As far as the super-six fighters go, I doubt that Bute would beat many of them. but its really hard to say being that he hasnt to this point really fought anyone that we can really judge from.

Bute is 2-0 against Andrade. You had plenty of time to read the rules...

Beside, Bute was badly ill before the first fight. It doesn't change the result but it should change your perception. Unless you just don't like him...

Bute is top three of the division. If he loses, he will go down. For the moment, he's up there.

Bute is the best fighter at 168 right now.
