He's susceptible to speed which is a major reason why Khan will beat him imo. He isn't ironed chinned for a guy with his style it's not greatest thing to lack. I wouldn't say he's chinny like Khan. He leaves himself on offer a fair bit and gets caught by short compact counters and viper like one two's, and hooks. ie he gets caught by most shots in book if there thrown quickly.
Speed will cause him huge problems. I see Khan hammering this guy with combinations that he's never seen before.
yeah i think he is more open than chinny- Ortiz knocked him down with short counters. He does have good recuperation I'm sure Freddie Roach has noticed this!
Lazarus, I'm still waiting for you to get involved in a convo not about or in some way related to Khan...
I wouldnt say Ortiz is feather fisted. Ortiz is chinny and theres a question over his heart but he's a solid puncher who's going to hurt anyone if he's catches him right especially someone who's as open as Maidana . Ortiz's problem was that he jumped in for the kill because he was used to fughting lesser fighters and then got sucked into a war and spat the dummy because Maidana was htting him back .
After watching the Corley fight I would say alot of it is down to the fact he has terrible footwoork. May be more of a balance issue. Khan as long as he stays away from the big shot should have a field day. He's not going to like that jab in his face all night and he's not going to be difficult to catch with the one two's like Malignaggi. I can see a late rounds finish for Khan.
