hater:yep joking aside, pac is around 50-60 in my list... he might not be on my below 50 list, but he's an atg for sure
last time i heard ledwaba was considered a threat to morales and barrera... then pac came in and made him look like a washed up fighter.. your reasoning is garbage.he defended the ibf title 5 times before facing pac and you call him a tomato can?:-(
Come on. He has wins over several all time greats and has done an historical climbing through divisiones. He's better, imo, than Michael Spinks, Mike Tyson, Salvador Sanchez, Ted Kid Lewis, Holyfield, Ruben Olivares, Larry Holmes, Jofre, Foreman, Conn, Cerdan and others.
In 2 years, when he's done w/ Hatton, dela Hoya and Marquez (for farewell fight and legacy), Pac is within 30.
Pac is underrated by haters and overrated by some fans but to think that he's not on the Top 50 ATG is just bullsh!t.The guy already jumped from 106 to 142 and fought and beat the biggest names from Barrera,Morales,Marquez,DLH(So what if Oskee is past his prime or f*ckin' weight-drained,before the fight almost everybody thought DLH would traumatize Pac like he never felt before) and some other world champions like Larios,Diaz,Ledwaba,Sasakul,Julio...Add the 4 world titles(3 lineals),The Ring Titles at Featherweight and Jr.Lightweight.
Pac is a top 100 ATG, no doubt....however, he will not beat Hatton, and in mine and many others eyes did not beat JMM. To sneak into the top 50 he has to beat someone of the status of a prime PBF, something that I hope would happen but which I don't think he is quite capable of doing.
someone that can fight and be destructive from fly to welterweight deserves to be in the top 30 at least. and this guy didn't just box but fought his way up. i give credit where its due!
name me another fighter thats fought from fyweight to welterweight which is 9 divisions and be successfull and fought in three divisions in one year in comparison to henry armstrong. along the way being the most entertaining fighter of his era anyone that don't consider him at least in the top 50 is definitely a hater or a marquez fan.
Immediately following the Diaz fight I proposed the following scenario..."What IF (Big IF) Manny Pacquiao were to fight AND BEAT the following fighters in his next 3 fights-Oscar DeLaHoya, Ricky Hatton & Floyd Mayweather. Even though I emphasized the IF, many laughed at me saying these fights would never happen and Manny wouldn't have a snowball's chance in hell if they did. Some, in jest, said that they'd put Manny in the top5 ATGs (but it would never happen!) One even said that he'd bump SRR off his list if such an impossible scenario came to fruition. SO, I ask again...what if?
I missed it....So who won the fight between Manny and Oscar??? Manny has no chance in hell... I bet Oscar won it, why even ask......
my post was from before the da la hoya fight, but i still stand by what i said, beating de la hoya for me doesn't make him a better fighter, think of it this way, if he fought a welterweight contender, say someone like cintron, then he could get KTFO, its not as if he is a champion at welterweight or jr welterweight. i'm not a hater, but you fans get too hyped up very easily, he is an incredible fighter, i have all the respect for him in the world, if he went on to fight ricky hatton he would knock him out, but if he fought floyd then he would lose via decision, he is a great fighter and one of the best of this generation but no way is he a top 50 atg, he needs to do more. if manny wants to be ranked as a top 50 atg fighter then he needs to beet the likes of marquez and mayweather convincingly.
