Agree...........also recall Fenech offering Mundine $500,000 to fight Green. Think Mundine made a bout 10-12 times as much when they finally fought.
It's all proportional really: Green bullshits a bit and cops a bit of crap for it. Mundine bullshits a lot and cops a lot of crap for it. (there's never been a bigger b/s artist in Australian boxing history than Mundine - would love to hear a nomination for someone if anyone cares to offer one)
no.hes **** but beat Mundine 6 years same as trying to KO Sullivan when Mundine couldnt.just part of trying to get to Mundine.
Mundine talks **** for the sake of talking ****, Green actually believes all the bull**** that comes from his mouth. Green is extremely arrogant. It seems that if someone says something positive about their opponent they're this down to earth, humble guy and it erases everything else they've said. Guys like Green, Hatton even the beloved Kostya Tszyu fall into that category. I truly believe Mundine is a humble guy, he talks **** so people watch him, he talks **** to gee himself up,to put pressure on himself to perform. So many dumb****s out there aren't capable of having an independant thought on anything, no depth of thought or understanding, just repeat what your mate told you or what you saw on the news. Also you are way off line with the comment about american boxers, maybe you're new to the sport so you've fallen for the black american boxer stereotype. Look at the top pro in the world at the moment, he's Filipino. Top amateur, Ukranian. Actually more and more top fighters are coming from Eastern Europe nowadays. Australians do fall behind abit in the boxing skills department compared to some other places, I believe it's due to a general lack of an intellectual approach towards boxing in this country, being a tough guy and a good bloke are the attributes Aussies seem to value most. Skills, technique and strategy are the things focused on in the top boxing countries like Cuba and Russia, you can see English boxers focusing more on these things and as a result they're performing better in the ams and the pro game.
So that makes it better?? Green is certainly at times arrogant. Mundine is almost always arrogant, pre and post bout! As just one example, Mundine maintains he schooled Geale, when in reality he very narrowly got the decision. Then he ducked the mandatory re-match in absolutely laughable fashion, discarding the title in the process! But hey, he's a Pioneer!
Never let the truth get in the way of a good story Leon, c'mon mate, you know that deadlines need headlines!
If ever Mundine had a chance to be arrogant after a fight it was the first green fight, but he resisted and thanked danny for the fight. I wonder if greeny would of been as classy had he won.:nut
Good point........Mundine could have taken Green to school OUTSIDE the ring as well but thanked him and called him a warrior etc, etc.:good
Because i'm not a dumb**** and I know when someone is genuine or they're having a laugh, I understand body language, posture, demeanor and language used. Basically i'm smart as a ****.
