Sorry to say this, Addie. But most Mexicans will rank MAB the lowest because of his failures and 0 wins vs. Manny.

So you're saying some Boxing fans will rate MAB the lowest by disregarding his career from 1989-2002? That isn't my problem.

Not my problem, either. That's just what it seems like here on ESB, sans the Mexican Barrera fans.

You're not wrong, Grillinnap. I'd say that MAB was the least appreciated of the three.

Didn't you say, pre-Jmm-Pac3 a JMM win would elevate him over MAB and Morales?

Yawns, if you look at the comp Morales/MAB faced discounting each other and Pac then it's pretty much worse.

JMM was the same age as MAB and Casa, it's not JMM's fault Morales and MAB wouldn't fight him at 126 is it?

He beat Chris John and was robbed, watch the fight. He was the same age as Casa. Katsidis was a rated contender

I don't think so, until recently many have had him number 1 out of the 3 Mexicans and he clearly bested Morales. If anything the Hamed hate hurts his stock a little

Beating the man, doesn't make you the man..

Marquez knocking Pacquioa out doesn't earn him the victories Pacquioa had over Oscar, Ricky, Miguel, Tony, and Shane.. Also, doesn't give him multiple fighter of the year awards, fighter of the decade award, and an eight division world champion.. :smoke

I can't be sure. My memory is atrocious. Just ask my girlfriend.

I think I rate both Kennedy Mckinney and Naseem Hamed as being better than any fighter Marquez defeated not named Pacquiao or Barrera.

What are you struggling to understand, PP? In the present...as in right now, I think MAB is the least appreciated, least rated, of the three. I'm not discussing one year ago, two years ago, or even three years ago. Now. Today.

    1. Hamed yes but Mkkinney was a level below that. Chris John (in reality he won), Casa (coming off a controversial but back in good shape for JMM), Norwood (if you thought he won). I'm not sure Mkkinney was much better than the likes of Gainer, Polo or Medina

Junior Jones for Morales maybe better on his day than those, ofcourse he lost to Mkkinney after dominating him and plenty of others, but he's better than Mkkinney on his day

    2. I think that's favouritism. Barrera never had the same Mexcian backing as Morales, partly because of his middle class. For fight fans, Barrera became more conservative post 122 and didn't brawl like Morales.

JMM has in the past been the forgotten man himself out of the limelight, only getting his chance against Pacquaio. And in the second and third fights when Roach thought he was past his best

I don't rate the version of Casamayor that fought JMM very highly. Chris John and Freddie Norwood? Decent fighters, but certainly no better than the likes of Mckinney.

For whatever reasons, MAB is the least appreciated of the three.

I'm talking about the present. The here and now.
