Matthysse is overhyped for what he actuallly is. The guys he beat aren't so great but people with less knowledge see them victories as a lot bigger than they are. He's a good fighter but hasn't beat anyone of note.

I think Olusegun wasn't the best of opponents, and i do believe he's a fairly come forward guy but he has more skill than Rios and Garcia.

Brandon Rios is a slugger and has limited defense. I think Matthysse has a fan friendly style which will bring in a lot of fans.

He is probably up there as the best 140 pounder right now. With the power he has he can scare people and control a fight. I think Zab Judah felt his power but as a fighter I don't see anything brilliant about him.

I think before he took off as a fan favourite, many thought he wasn't so good at one point. Many thought he was beatable. It was when he had to fight Zab.

If you go through his fights he wasn't really known by many before the Zab Judah fight. The more fights he will get the more he will improve.

they would be highly competitive fights but i think ajose comes up short vs both of them, but ajose is a beast as well 140 is stacked.

i really wanna see lucas vs rios there both available top rank and golden boy need to do buisness. they just did with lara and vanes so there is hope.

 

Maybe... I just don't know if bob wants to risk that since rios is a bigger draw then vanes or atleast has a bigger fan base

 

I knew Matthyse was real good prior to the fight against Ajose Olusegun however he made me a true believer after his display against a very willing and game Ajose Olusegun. I think Danny Garcia was not the finished article when he won the world title and he is actually improving. I think Goldenboy are not looking to push for Garcia and Matthyse to fight any time soon. The plan was to get rid of Ajose Olusegun as Garcia's mandatory. It's very difficult to argue against Matthyse being the man at 140.
