Not who achieved more, not who you like best, who better?

A Mayweather as big as Jones would beat Jones. Too much skills for Jones to handles

You should have did a public poll.

Anyway... there`s no wrong answer here IMO... both amazing athlete`s that use that athleticism very well... Roy had better speed & power, p4p... Mayweather is the more technically sound boxer that will serve him well when age starts to take his natural gifts away.

I voted Mayweather, not a lot in it tho.... probably the 2 best fighters since JCC & Pea.

Prime Roy did things that no one has ever seen before or again. At 175, he was faster than Floyd at 147. There was a time (right before the first Tarver fight) when I wondered if any fighter in history (below heavyweight) would have been able to beat him?

Jones had more talent than any other fighter I've EVER seen, most of it based on athleticism.

I picked Jones on that basis but wouldn't bet on him against Floyd if the two were matched on a pound for pound basis. Either could win on any given day and would more than likely cancel each other out.

Just because its an option... I like to check n see who voted for who... if its there as an option & that option does no harm then why not use it ?

Floyd isnt close to the level Roy Jones Jr was in his prime. And im a huge Mayweather fan.

Mayweather never beat a guy P4P on the level of a James Toney or Bernard Hopkins.

In his prime Roy Jones Jr was on another level totally.

Attack and athleticism = Roy Jones

Defence and technical = Floyd Mayweather

As for who'd win in a fight? Very difficult to determine, as both hold strong cards in different ways. Mayweather's defence will be seriously tested by the phenomenal attacking ability and athleticism of Roy. Furthermore, Roy's workrate was amazing, and his 10 punch relentless combinations (may not land 100%) will certainly impress the judges over a defensive Mayweather.

I'd say Roy Jones decision if they ever fought

The poll is designed to get a flavour of the board's opinions. If people want to discuss their opinions they can do that in the thread. To me, it doesn't matter who votes for who.

very hard to say. technically floyd is the better boxer. floyd can fight on the ropes, and he's better defensively, which is a certain department that has bit jones in the arse since he can't relie on reflexes alone now to get him out of trouble. if you put them in the ring together at the same height, weight, and so on, then it's too tough to say. theres certain departments that floyd is better than jones, and certain departments that jones was better than floyd. it wouldn't be an exciting fight. both weren't risky fighters that put everything on the line.

Two of the most naturally gifted boxers I've ever seen...so comfortable in the squared circle! Couldn't tell you who was better...but I can say they are/were better than 99% of other boxers in there era!

Fair enough.... a lot of posters just pop in to vote tho & dont leave comments, its a personal preference I guess, I always prefer public votes.
