He is a borderline case if Ive ever seen one.

I would have him 5-10 spots out, so in other words, top 60.

there're at least 30 to 40 better heavyweights how can he be top 50 all time.. too many good boxers in other weight classes to try and make a case for him

Because he's a top five all-time at light heavyweight. And then became the heavyweight champion.

What a dumbass question! Spinks is a top 15-20 atg! Anybody who doesnt rank him top 50 should follow another sport.

    Yes.

I haven't written a 50, but I believe he would be in the 25-40 bracket somewhere. I rate Michael very highly, higher than most I believe.

Easily top 50...closer to top 35.

Dominated and unified a good LHW division beating such fighters Dwight Qawi, Mustafa Muhammad, Marvin Johnson, Yaqui Lopez, Murray Sutherland, and Eddie Davis. Moved up to Heavyweight and inflicted the first professional defeat of Larry Holmes career. Only ever lost to peak Mike Tyson, and never suffered a career defeat at 175lbs.

    Easily top 50...a lock.

I'd probably have him in the '40's if I did a full list. His resumé at LHW is undeniably, he cleaned out a great era, and while I thought he was a good but not great heavyweight, and while I felt he may have lost the 2nd Holmes fight, he did step up and win the lineal HW title aswell, even if Holmes was slipping by then. The Tyson fight has no signficance on my ranking of him, stylistically, it was always going to happen.

I don't rate him quite so highly, but that's not not to say he doesn't have a case. And I think it depends how you personally are ranking in terms of h2h at their best weight having an edge over accomplishments, etc.
