Light Middle weights rehydrate up to 170 though. Cotto would be a small LMW. He's not a huge WW, just slightly big

No, he is not a big ww Carles. He is just a fire hydrant of a ww with great skill. The average size of the ww's is about 5' 10. Cotto look small and thick like Cole from Martin as Martin would say lol...

I wouldn't say he's an especially big WW. At least not in terms of dimensions like height and wingspan. His wingspan is quite short compared to some other WWs out there.

However, he has a stocky frame and rehydrates quite a bit (in the upper 150s), so it's not as if he's a small WW either.

I'll say he's on the big side at WW. Just not THAT big, like a Williams, Trinidad, or Margarito.

Considering Cotto fights in an era that includes the likes of Margarito, Cintron, PTP, and Clottey, I hesitate to label him as a big welter. He's an average sized fighter for the weight imo.

rayhogan - san rafael is right.....Clottey is much more defined than Cotto and maybe an inch and a half taller, but Cotto looked just as BIG - very thick and sturdy. He's the like the bull of the WW division in that respect, but other things (chin/stamina) prevent him from consistently fighting like one.

Lol if you say so. But Cotto is not bigger then Clottey. Clottey is an inch taller (5'8) with a 3 inch reach advantage and his body frame is bigger.

I disagree. Clottey has a big body frame. Clottey foehead is large with 3 inch reach advantage and yes he's an inch taller.

I heard Lampley referring to him as a "very big welterweight" and it did make me do a double take. I'd call him a perfectly sized WW. I think Lampley was slanting things for the Pac/Cotto fight. Maybe not. Maybe that's just Lamp's opinion.
