Murray turned down a title fight against a guy in Fletcher who couldn't last two rounds with The caravan kid. Totally bonkers move.
Murray obviously turned down the Fletcher fight because he knew he was moving on. All in all i think Hatton did a good job with Murray considering he has no tv and the fact that Murray cant fight in America.
Aye, i think his little moan a couple of weeks ago to Steve Bunce on the boxing hour was rehearsed, but it's his choice in the end and good luck to him.
Just because they did a good job earlier in his career doesn't mean anything for recent performance. You show me a hp fighter that is happy that boxed above small hall level. There aren't any. No tv means no big wages for the descent fighters leaving them being forced into taking fights on **** terms or sitting getting stale
My instinct for trouble tells me that Murray is not an easy customer to deal with. Major case of "chip on shoulder syndrome" there I suspect. All the original hype and goodwill towards this guy is draining away fast.
I'll say it again not Hatton's fault Murray is afraid of GGG he could have fought him didn't have the balls. Also everyone licking Eddie Hearns balls. He isn't the messiah you'd swear every fighter on his books is fighting mega fights. Done nothing with Brook (i'd bet big FW would have Brook a world title fight by now), Sent Purdy, Rees and Barker to the slaughter and finished them at top level, Hearn isn't some amazing promoter he has his handy Sky Deal easy to promote fighters when you have that. Eddie will have him fight for a regular BS title tell us he is a world champion and have him making defenses against bums not a chance he will put Murray in with GGG or Sturm.
Murray still has world title "potential" in him. If he can get (and keep) his act together he can beat Quillin who is there for the taking IMO. He would want to get his skates on before someone else beats him to it though.
Len is definitely an oddball, no question about that. He's the type of guy who I imagine wears rain macs, carries a Tesco for life carrier bag and kicks pigeons. A really strange character.
I think I will wait for Martins announcement first especially considering the other HP fighters that are running for the hills.
According to Eddie Hearn when the Fletcher fight was made he seemed to be alluding to it being a defence of Murray's interim belt rather than the full belt.
