I think there's an unwritten rule in boxing that once you get beat by a world class fighter, you cannot fight 20 more consecutive cabdrivers. They should nullify it and call it the "Prince Hamed Exception" He'd probably still be fighting today.

at the time of the Barrera fight, he had fought a few fighters more accomplished. The Hamed fight resurrected Barrera's career..so if Hamed was so terrible, then why did it promote Barrera to prominence?

at the time of the Barrera-Hamed bout, Barrera's accomplishments were:
2 time WBO titlist, with 10 defenses and 3 losses at superbantam. (I guess when he went up in class to fight Jones he was exposed... )

    Compare with:
Bungu (13 defenses of superbantam title, including wins over McKinney, Romero and Salud)= KAYOED
Vazquez (3 division titlist, and WBA feathweight titlist)= KAYOED
Tom Johnson (linear feather champ, with 11 defenses of ibf title)= KAYOED

These 3 fighters were more accomplished fighters than Barrera at the time of the Hamed-Barrera bout. The Hamed bout put Barrera in prominence as the undisputed featherweight champion. To say that Hamed didn't fight elite fighters in and around his weight class is unfounded. Its just that Barrera did his best work in the Hamed fight and afterwards, and the elite fighters Hamed beat were ruined after being kayoed by Hamed and fell from people's consciousness.

Another point, the Calvo fight is only said to have been a terrible fight for Hamed is b/c he didnt knock him out, as all the people who watch Hamed had been used to seeing, and they booed him. Never mind that Hamed won 11/12 rounds, or that NO ONE KNOCKS OUT CALVO.

When he was active he was over-rated. I did not think he would be the next big thing in boxing. Like he was being hyped as.
In retirement I think he gets underated.

    Title defenses?

Those wins over Mckinney and romero were at 122 not featherweight where hamed fought him. Bungu Never acoomplished much after that either.

Wilfredo Vazquez? What where his best wins before the Hamed fight?
There's only 1 worth mentioning and thats a SD over an older Orlando Canizales. Yet? He already had LOSSES to William Ramos, Miguel Lora, Antonio Avelar, Khaokor Galaxy, Israel Contreras KO 1, and Antonio Cermeno. Not exactly unbeatbale vazquez now was he?

STFW? Tom johnsons claim to fame was 2 out of 3, including an SD, vs a very beatable Manuel Medina before Hamed.

11 of 12 rounds?:rofl Yeah, so read the scorecards:lol: NO ****ING WAY IT WAS THAT WIDE. They booed Hamed because he looked like DOG ****, not because he didnt KO:nono Calvo gave Hamed all he wanted through AT LEAST several rounds of that fight.

And then suddenly, it hit him. I gonna get beat down and embarassed vs MAB every time, EM, PAC, and JMM AS WELL:hey And wallah.......... R-E-T-I-R-E-M-E-N-T:good

He could not box with ELITE fighters and got trounced by the only one he faced. Then having a terrible time with Calvo and running into retirement.

The amzaing part is that he got all the hype he did and had legions of fans and attention, largely to his ring walks and **** talks, and even after getting blown out and embarassed? You Hamed fans still keep trying to sell it like its HOT:lol: You get an A for tenacity, and and F in reality.

    :huh ...

    THEY ARE FACTS!

Got better ones that trump or disprove them? By all means, lets debate:yep We can do so without attacking one another:good

Hamed was exposed and wasnt an elite fgghter. If he was? he'd have trained hard and either rematched MAB or fought one of the others like EM,JMM or PAC who was at 122 and could have come up.

But we didnt see that because of what WE SAW VS MAB, hands down exposure at its finest.

I think Hamed had as much to do with Ingle splitting than any Ingle himself. From what ive read Nas got very very lazy and ceased to listen to what he was told, and thats when we got the yes men in.

Ingle actually sounded more letdown than angry? As in he saw it as part of Hamed's decline, rather than a massive personal insult.

He is OVER rated and he had a positively ridiculous show-off style that was eventually broken down with only boxing basics. (Thanks, Marco)

Nope. Not under rated at all. I hate to see excuses as to why he lost to Barrera. By changing trainers, I don't believe that any boxer completely loses the ability to fight and suddenly forgets everything he's learned. If that's how it is, they are only proving that they do not have natural ability. When you're in trouble in the ring, the last thing you should be doing is showing off. It's idiotic, at best. Hamed should have been able to see that his clown-ish antics were not working, were never going to work, and simply cannot work against a solid fighter such as MAB.

Hamed is not as good as Barrera. He never was. So nope, I don't believe a "prime" Hamed beats Marco. Never in a million years.
