I am now sure that the Hamed huggers are the worse..Ive never seen in this board an ex fighter rehashed like Hamed. One thing to hype up a guy if hes active..Hamed has been long out of the game. He quit!

All the freakin excuses..Ingle left him he was 29 years old when he lost to MAB...make the damn fight close!!! if youre truly great,..MAB gave points away and still won a clear decision.

This was the man who avoided Morales, JMM and Espinosa like the plague...the only reason he fought MAB was because MAB lost to Erik..
So please enough with the condescending that if Hamed isnt great then you do not know the sport.

Its quite the opposite...if you think Hamed is underrated you are a freakin ******..This guy fought Kelly a NYC native and all the NYC newspapers wrote nothing about bout Hamed..Hamed Hamed Hamed..he was all they talked about... I know I interned for Newsday!...and what happened he got KD 3 times after entering the ring like a freakin King!!!

those are facts! Kelley while a good fighter was pretty much done. You should know had you followed his career after this fight..

So please stop with these threads..He had freakish power and unorthodox but please dont compare him to RJJ..

Hamed probably was underrated, but he was such an annoying twat that peoples judgements get clouded because a lot like me despised him at the time....

Hamed's fanbase pales in comparison to the legions of Calzaghe followers on here, most of them that just showed up after the Kessler fight. I wonder why. . .:hey

I agree about the overrepresentation part

but lets go back to Hamed..because some fans here just plain dont know. We all know that Kelley is a Flushing kid..he was 10 blocks from where I lived in Northern Blvd...very very nice guy. The hype on Hamed for this fight was unbelievable!!! Youd think he was Tyson or something

I think its his first time in America ..it was actually a red carpet welcome..I felt bad for Kevin because he was kinda disregarded as a native son. I can count in 1 finger who picked Kelley to win that fight..It was Hamed Hamed Hamed...entering the ring like a ****in Pharaoh and getting decked 3 times..Thats overrated..

Call him good..great whatever you want believe in your own fantasy but underrated??? nah

Definately not undderated but i don't think he was overrated. What did you think of his entrance? He had a better entrance than pbf.

It wasnt just that fight, hamed got hyped like a god before and after. His Ring walks and incredibly irritating **** talking was billed as the work of GOD...excuse me... ALLAH created him to be the best ever:-(

As I pointed out earlier when you break down his competition? That win over kelly was HIS BEST and Kelly was past it and KD him 3 timnes:verysad

I think Hamed was a great fighter that quit too soon...I am not disregarding his accomplishemts because Kevin was a hell of a fighter and had tremendous power and was dangerous. But Hamed is not an ATG just because he didnt fight the fights.. MAb, Erik Pac , JMM, junior Jones..they fought each other sometimes multiple times...

He was overrated because only Tyson was more popular internationally than Hamed..for someone of Hameds resume and weightclass..to achieve that level is not because he was underrated.

But as far as ring entrances..he was the best..i guess that what made him overrated in some sense..the show and image projected was that of superman when in reality Hamed had alot of flaws technically

You talk about junior jones and morales yes he should have fought them but i did not see them busting a gut to come over to england. Pac also wasn't in that weight class either.

If you examine most of the names he fought? They werent that good.

His next best wins were Wayne Mccuollogh and Augie Sanchez. the rest fall apart under scrutiny.

He was hyped before and after but whats astounding was the way Kelley was just throw aside in his own town.. I saw interviews when Hamed was literally being very disrespectful toward kelley..and the NY media ate this **** up!

Its hard to argue that its his best fight and victory because Kelley although a B+ at best also had freakish power. Hamed also showed heart no doubt. I give him his due but lets be honest he did look silly getting knocked down because his technique was so bad...Kelley should have finished that fight
