by that logic, he could have turned down 10% and he would still be a greedy little ****. Just cause you turn down a purse does not make you greedy. Its normal for a boxer to demand he get paid what he believes he is worth.
A fraction of the people in the U.K will buy a Ricky Hatton fight if he's not fighting Mayweather. Ricky can't sell ppvs on just his name. Those casual fans know who the hell Mayweather and Pacquiao are. Why the hell would they know about their status in the sport but not the fighter? I want someone to tell me what Hatton's biggest ppv fight was outside of Mayweather.
Yes pacman will get KTFO and he knows it if he faces hatton. I hope the mayweather rematch happens so hatton can KO him and make it even.
Dinimata, if you notice i asked the question, it was not my opinion. you ask the same question the other way round, is that also stupid ?
I think it's fair to say Pac-Man's has a fear of losing against Hatton and therefore losing the bargaining power that he wants. He wants the lions share of every fight and a beating by Hatton aint gonna establish him in that role.He wants Pound for Pound No1# money when really it's all about pulling power and sellin ppv's seats. He should take the split that was offered and try and establish a greater fan base across the western world. Instead he's whining and moaning, the foreigners did this, he said that.....ffs it's quite pathetic.
so why would pac have made more from fighting hatton than any other fight past, present or future with the possible exception of pbf who is retired.
but that applies to all fighters, cotto and pavlik would do decent numbers on ppv on their own fighting decent opposition, but they're fightin poor opposition in their next fights and it probably won't do very good numbers as a double header.
That's the whole point. These guys can't sell ppvs on their own. People keep talking about all this money Hatton is bringing in, but he isn't going to bring in **** unless he's fighting a big name.
I don't care to speculate about fighters ducking each other out of "fear", really, but from what I've read it seems that it is more Pacquiao holding this up than Hatton. At the end of the day I'd rather Mayweather vs. Pacquiao, but not Mayweather vs. Hatton II.
