I kinda agree with this, specially with the Jackie Chan comment. Jackie Chan though his english is bad seems very charismatic in interviews whereas Pac comes off very dull in English. I think his promoter is to blame, or advisers, it seems like Pac is instructed to certain lines or words to speak in interviews. Pre-Arum for example this is a guy who would call out his opponents, tell them he will fight them anytime, anywhere, post Arum we got a guy who repeatedly says "im just a fighter blah blah". It wont surprise me if they have rehearsed lines to reply to certain questions and thats why he plays dumb when a surprise question comes along. His interviews seem too rigid and orchestrated, need to let him just speak freely.
A combination of English not being his first langauge and choosing to play dumb. He plays dumb, so bob arum can take most of the blame for his bull****. Remember he is a "peoples champ".
What do you expect? PAC comes from the dirt....he had no real formal education up until recently. He comes from the people which is why the people love, respect and admire him. The upper Pinoy class love him b/c they can use him and his global stature to bring attention to their country which in turn will boost the economy. PAC definitely is not dumb....he's like a Jay-Z Jay didn't get a degree...he barely finished high school...but now he runs in a lot of high end circles. Only PAC's a boxer, not a rapper and PAC definitely had a more difficult story.
Most well thought out and logical post on this topic. PAC is still a young man....who is getting a lot of great experience. Everyday MOST people learn something new and PAC is in a situation where he's learning a lot of things in a lot of different areas based on who he is and how important he has become. He's never going to be Einstein, but he doens't need to be Einstein to implement and effect change where it's needed. PAC is street smart and everyday he's getting more and more savvy in the political realm. PAC has come a long way and if those who question his intelligence, compare PAC to 99% of all the other boxers who have come before him and figure out who has not just accomplished more in the sport, but what they've done, accomplished and impacted outside the ropes. No one compares and you don't reach this level being a moron. No one mention Bush, please.
just cause your not articulate doesn't mean your not dumb. theres several types of intelligences out there. but beyond that english is not his first language. he speaks and understands 3 languages so to me he is smarter than you, TS.
Try to visit some parts of the world where english is not the 1st language, see if you get offended when they call you an idiot because you can't speak their language. Once in a while, leave your parent's basement and travel more. You need learn more about the world.
English is not Pacman's first language plus he did not finish his high school, although he took high school equivalency exam making him eligible for college education in 2007. Lower the bar people.
For someone who just started learning English since the Barrera fight in 2003, that is a tall order to expect someone to speak the language in that short period of time. Pac is oftentimes confused of the question because, clearly, he doesn't understand it so he just laugh about it. Put yourself in his position. Try speaking Vietnamese or Chinese in that short span and see how you will look like. BTW, there are gifted people who learn a language quite fast. I am not one of them. Obviously, Pac is not one of them either.
and unlike yao, pac is constantly surrounded predominantly by bisaya speaking people and not english. i think he hardly gets to practice speaking in english. his filipino or tagalog is not even that fluent ffs.
