I guess the follow up question is; can Calzaghe handle a solid straight right from Pavlik?

Won't know until Pavlik fights at 168. Honestly though, I reckon Kessler humiliates him

Pavlik is heavy handed, but he wears guy down with volume just like Kessler does. Kessler's accuracy and timing present more impact, think Judah's timing and accuracy/speed presenting sharp impacts and creating more effect than what some naturally harder punchers can produce over Judah.

Regardless, power is comparable, Pavlik is a volume hitter.

Jesus Christ, HOW MANY did he have to land on Taylor and Miranda to score the stoppages?!

Do you see him landing more than 1 at a time on Joe?

Yes. Pavlik wears you down, but I don't think he'd be effective against Calzaghe. He's not going to land 3 or 4 punch combos like he did against Miranda or backup JC like he did to JT.

    Kessler is the bigger puncher
Pavlik vs Kessler would be a great fight but i think Kessler is too strong.
If Taylor can hurt Pavlik Kessler will but Pavlik to sleep.

Pavlik does not punch as hard as Kessler (my opinion not fact as how could anyone tell without them both being measured?) who is not in anyway overrated. Stop trying to look for solace or to undermine two great fighters. Pavlik would get beat by both at this point in time, great fighter that he is. Taylor has little chance in the re-match.

    Ams,

I agree Pav is a volume puncher and over time they break you down, but it is always a one, two that ends his fights. The rest of the barrage of punches he throws are usually just highlights. The right hand in the Taylor fight is what ended it. The uppercuts just made sure he wasn't conscious.

Yeah, it looked like Calzaghe hurt Kessler pretty bad with that body shot. I think Kessler could knock Pavlik out and Pavlik could knock Kessler out, I think Pavlik would knock out Kessler IMO.

The question wasn't raised to undermine either fighter. It was purely for debate. Kessler fought like a warrior tonight and he landed clean, hard punches. I my opinion, Pavlik is something special when it comes to punching power. A lot of his opponents have never been on the deck, let alone been Ko'ed. He has KO'ed them in such a brutal manner. I was looking to see how he would stack up. :good

Either way Pavlik would come up short against Calazaghe or Kessler. He just is not in their league. I think Lacy could take Pavlik at 168.

Joe should stay away from Pavlik. Pavlik is a much more powerful, intelligent, and more focused than Kessler we found that out tonite. What really surprised me is that Kessler could not adapt or throw more punches than he did he certainly seemed healthy enough to. Part of me knew that Joe would stun the Dane and he did. It was all mental really..Calzaghe just gets in your head. Still do you think Calzaghe can hit Pavlik harder than Taylor did? I don't think so. From watching both fights Calzaghe is alot harder to hit. I guess you can say Joe was open often for the right hand only Kessler never threw it. If it does happen Joe kills Bhop. Pavlik kills Joe.

Lacey = Miranda = KO. Especially now, post Calzaghe.

Calzaghe's chin is imense, you can see a good punch when it's thrown, kessler is way more powerful than pavlik end of
