Pavlik is a shot fighter who drank his career away when just was on the cusp of really developing. But now, it's over.
it very well may be over. but you can never be 100% sure (don't be a dick and say you are ). He's only 28 and always came to fight. its not like he was phoning in fights. he always trained his ass off and never quit. the odds are his best is behind him. but if he can come out of this program a truly changed man, i wouldnt be a bit surprised to see him make some serious noise. he was really good once.
its incredible how different it is on here (not a good or bad think just an observation). a couple years ago you couldnt say anything on here that sounded anything like an opinion and have under a couple hundred posts and there'd be two pages of people telling you what a worthless noob **** you were. times they are a changin :deal
It's still relevent and I would be excited to see it, but just two years ago this fight would have been a super mega fight...now it's just a good fight. It's amazing how quickly things change in two-three years.
Pavlik is finito and Abraham now has a Glass Body. This fight is irrelevant. The new crop are taking over the MW division.:deal
Not relevant like it would've been a couple years ago, but I'd still look forward to watching it if it were scheduled.
pavlik has really been living up to his moniker, hes been a ghost lately. Has anyone heard anything from him?
At 168 right now it wouldn't be one hundredth as important as a middleweight unification (or partial unification - and as good as it could possibly get, since neither was getting anywhere near Sturm) between the two would have been then. It would still be somewhat relevant. If Pavlik can win impressively, he's in the mix at SMW. If Abraham can rebound by knocking Pavlik out (his best chance at victory, IMO) he makes a pretty powerful statement to get himself back in the mix and take some of the sting off his embarrassing 2010. Either way, the winner would be in or near contention. They might not be lined up for the winner of the looming Bute vs. S6 champion showdown, but they're certainly in the title chase. Assuming Pavlik will look better not having to cut weight, he's my prohibitive favorite here (points victory)...but he's still a largely unknown quantity in the division so it's tough to say for sure. If we're talking Pavlik as he looked in the loss to Hopkins versus Abraham as he looked in the loss to Froch (or Dirrell, for that matter)...yeah, Pavlik UD.
...been curious about this as well since i saw the replay of him vs. martinez... Wonder how he's doing in re-hab...
i doubt kelly will make it back and if he does hell be doing well to be ighting the calliber of fighter hat abraham is . i hope kelly gets his **** in order and comes back but lets not gloss over the cracks , other than selling tickets hes not much good
