Nah knocking out a smaller dude does not warrant for me. I think everyone who is a true boxing fan saw a Mayweather win but I think no one was expecting a stoppage. He is getting more respect for me though. But his resume is not that strong to warrant an all time great. If he beats Cotto then Paul Williams which I feel are the only 2 guys that would give him problems, then we can talk but for now his resume is not strong at all. Question would you put him over Holyfield with his resume? Remember even though Holy has about a million losses, he was beating people in their prime and I mean a lot of people. Think about that.
According to your simple logic, if Mayweather fought Hopkins the other day at light heavy and won (**** happens), then Kelly Pavlik at Middleweght would appear to be a small fighter for Floyd. Is that right? :yep It doesn't matter whom he fought and when he fought , since he is natural lightweight or even super featherweight, Hatton aint smaller fighter.
He wont fight Tono or PW. He is a truly talented fighter but needs to fight people who have a chance to beat him. He list Castillo once already so another Mexican might get to him again. Too bad he ducks Tono.
He's top 30-35. To become top 10, he needs to beat Cotto and Williams. A win over one would get him top 15-20.
What will Mosley and Margarito prove? ****, Mosley is THIRTY SIX YEARS OLD. Margarito only has one decent win: Kermit Cintron. He almost lost against Joshua Clottey and lost against Paul Williams. The only fight left is......Cotto.
Mayweather is not a top 10 fighter. That is a total no no. But this always happens, after a fight everyone says that one guy is overrated and one guy is near perfect and people go from there. But the truth is that Mayweather should have beat this guy. Hatton had no business in the ring with Money May.
Mayweather needs to fight Cotto to become Top15. Right now he's Top30. But the Top15 is the creme de la creme. A win over Cotto would complete the cycle and put him in the creme de la creme.
I think that Spinks will be Money Mays hardest fight right now, because he won't be the only slick fast guy in the ring.
